I know we have a solid offense and the D is improving. However, it is a road game against our rival. Albin beats OUr rival after rolling up undefeated Buffalo (4-0) I'll send him a gift card to the College Book Store for a new sideline hat. A collapsible hat with a belt buckle snap is not great gear for a D1 Football Coach.

I'm a hat snob FYI. Fitted, 6 panel, eight seamed lids only. Get a lid from Coach Moore for goodness sake.
Now I don't feel like I'm the only one who gets picky about stuff like that. The hat Frank usually wore toward the end of his career wasn't what I would pick. First, our athletic gear shouldn't say "Ohio University" when we try (though apparently not hard enough) to get sportscasters to call us "Ohio." And then there's the overall design of that hat. It looked like something someone who couldn't care less about athletics would pick out. Just awful. Don't get me started on Albin's paw logo sweatshirt. What kind of hat does coach Moore wear?

Miami is averaging about 19 pts per game with 300 yds of total offense. Gabbert missed several games but the first two games back against WMU and Akron he hasn't been too special. But he has weapons and is a solid MAC QB. He could definitely have a good game.

It's games like this in Oxford that on paper we should win but turn out to be agonizing. I think Miami will want to slow the game down to keep our offense off the field.

Let's go Bobcats!!! It's always nice to win in Oxford but this year would be even sweeter.
We suffered an atmospheric river last week here in Oregon - fueled, no doubt, by the massive sucking that takes place in Oxford, Ohio...

Cap digression incoming...

I attended OU in the early 2000s and have kept an eye on the bookstore and athletic department merch website ever since, and Ohio's hat game has always been awful. Follett's had some New Era fitteds around a decade ago, and I snagged one, but the quality isn't great and I don't love the design. If you look at the College Bookstore website, it's almost exclusively terrible dad hats (like Coach Albin wears). I'm sure they have data showing that those sell better, or maybe they don't want to worry about selling different sizes, but I can't wear caps like that with my 7 3/4-wearing dome.

The baseball team's caps when I was a student were New Era and looked really nice, but I never saw anywhere that offered them for purchase. They wear caps by The Game now, and even in the player headshots, they look awful. The bookstores all carried crappy Zephyr fitteds when I was a student, but those appear to be a thing of the past.

Tonight is the kind of game I have weird feeling in my stomach about. We SHOULD beat them, but this game just reeks of friendly fire football.

I don't like this matchup. This is a good defense we're going against. Have to hope Rourke and Co don't get bogged down like at WMU or vs NIU. Plus Gabbert is in his 3rd game back and might start getting comfortable back there.

What's the backfield health like? McCormick played early last week then was gone from the game. Bangura going to play?

It was exciting seeing Ross with a couple nice runs last week until the fumble. Hopefully he's an option tonight and hangs onto the ball.

I would expect a low scoring game unless somehow we are able to run the ball better than we have almost all year. I don’t think their guys beat themselves either so I don’t expect a lot of help in that regard.

Just hope we have some more guys back like last week.

Hopefully we will beat a mediocre Miami squad tonight.

I am still setting silly that we are at the top of the MAC.

I’m hoping the emotional rah rah factor will kick in.

Sounds ridiculous but I remember a cold November game in Athens just a few years ago (before COVID) …
Where we were favored but some Fiami dudes were on the field hours before the game with their shirts off….I’m standing near the north end zone and these guys are going nuts….who wants this the most?

Almost looks like we are trying to find ways to lose this game.
Hopefully it is just me.

Knock it off with the cute crap and let Rourke throw the ball!!! They're incapable of stopping that.

Edit: I'd also like to see Bostic get more involved in the short passing game. With his size and strength, he can deal out some punishment on the Fiami secondary. He's like having a big RB running loose.
Bostic having a big night so far. Fiami obsessed with Wiglusz. That's OK, we've got more playmakers than they can double!

Love the plethora of running backs tonight. Keep pounding. It will open up passes downfield in 2nd half.

Jake was in once or twice. Julian still in the dog house after the fumble last week?

Just need to score 2 more TDs and a possible field goal. Dont really see Miami going past 17 unless a fumble or interception return. (Knock on wood)

Would love to see trips formation with Bostic on one side in redzone.

After being on this board for 10+ years as a lurker, it takes this ideocracy to get me to finally post. I believe that this hat was designed by Coach Boals, and promotes social justice and the proceeds support the Ebony Scholars program at OU. The fact that this offends someone or they think this is a bad look, does not say much for the mission of OU.

Frankly, find this sad, that of all that is going on, this is what someone wants to comment on!!!!

I think OC and QB salivate when they see #30 in the ohio secondary ever since OUr game v. Fordham.

Mr. Cross is having a fantastic game. Lets wear this defense down and pound them (eat some clock).
