The Athletic Dept announces a free semester of tuition giveaway at the game on Tuesday. They did this at least once before, can't remember which game. Hopefully they wait to do it in the 4th quarter. This will most definitely move the meter on student attendance, especially if the weather holds up and is solid as currently forecasted.
They did it at the CFB 150 game against Miami a couple years ago. That's the most packed I've seen the student section on a weeknight. The Temple game in 2011 was close in terms of MACtion turnout. The 150 game was also cited as one of the weirdest games of the season by ESPN. Ohio outperformed the Redchickens in almost every Stat, except for 2 turnovers.
The Blackout Temple game was one of the highlights of my time as a student. Unbelievable atmosphere throughout the stadium.
I agree, that Temple game was one of the most enjoyable that I have attended. Great crowd, great back and forth game, great performances by LaVon Brazill, Donte Harden, and Tettleton, and a good win.

There were quite a few Temple fans at that game, which surprised me. I remember talking to one of them at halftime when I was getting something to eat under the stands at one of our world-class concession stands. That was a rivalry that could have developed into something special if they had stayed in the MAC. Great game with great intensity. Loved it!

Sounds like Bangura is not definitely out. Albin says day-to-day. Extra time helps.

Sounds like Bangura's game day status is optimistic!

Considering our lack of depth at RB, why hasn't the DeSales' standout Quintell Quinn been out on the field?

Yep, that's a good comment. I prefer Oxford Tech or Cradle of Misfits, but "That School near Cincinnati" works for me!

How in the hell did these guys lose to Holy Cross?

Holy Cross is undefeated. Meanwhile, Ohio barely beat Fordham, and Fordham is otherwise undefeated. For those that believe in comparative scores, maybe we will get some insight into the Ohio-Buffalo game when Fordham and Holy Cross meet this weekend.

Holy Cross and Furman go into OT, tied at 45-45 at the end of regulation.

We are a 1.5 point underdog. I was expecting that to be slightly more.

A question for this esteemed group - Anyone ever left a vehicle overnight in Tailgreat on a MACtion night? If so, any ticket ramifications?

Easy money on Ohio. Bobcats will win outright, again.

Thanks, Nostradamus. You've been on a streak recently. I won't object if you keep being right.

My guess is that this game will be even enough that the team that wins the battle of turnovers will come out on top. Both teams have been winning the battle of turnovers. In four MAC games, Buffalo is +8 turnovers combined (+1 EMU, -1 Miami, +3 BG, +5 Toledo), while Ohio is also +8 (+2 Kent, +2 Akron, +4 WMU, +0 NIU).
Sounds like somebody is due for a clunker.

That "clunker" is going to come from Buffalo. I expect this game to be a competitive one. I wouldn't be surprised if Ohio ran away with it, but I fully expect Ohio to jump all over Buffalo early, build a nice double-digit lead, then keep Buffalo at bay the rest of the way, cruising to a relatively easy 7-10 point win. I have no concerns about Buffalo. Until they prove they can go on the road and win in Athens, which they have failed to do in nearly 15 years now, I'm not buying anything they're trying to sell with that program. Even with arguably their best team ever that last visited Athens in a big game, they got bushwacked. They came in pounding their chests and simply got their teeth kicked in. They haven't been tested like this in the MAC this year. Ohio's not going to play dead like BG and EMU, won't fall apart in crunch time like Miami, and isn't going to choke like Toledo. Tonight they'll get a healthy dose of the MAC East champ and will head back to that drab campus with a loss that will keep them from stepping foot in Detroit in December.

I love your passion but I have to be realistic here. NIU and Buffalo are the best zone run teams in our conference (have been for a while). And we have to face them in back to back games. I am really concerned with their ability to get to the edge. The differenece with NIU and Buffalo in the zone run is that NIU uses a FB where Buffalo uses TEs. If we cant stop that zone run then PA Pass becomes deadlier.

Praying we dont stay 4-3 all night. Need to go some 5-2 (LB on ball next to DE) to make Buffs line communicate or mess-up on run blocking plays. Cant let them get to 2nd level all night in 4-3.

Buffalo is 1-11 in Athens with their only win coming in the season of their only MAC Championship. Few games have been remotely close.
