curious, do you have Bobcat season tickets as well?

I do not.  Here's why:

1.)  Wofford, Toledo, BG, Akron, Louisiana, Buffalo vs Marshall, Miami (Fl), Ohio, EMU, Indiana, Purdue, Penn St, Michigan.  As I also stated, the only games I will actually attend this season are Ohio and Michigan, and I'll probably end up selling Michigan.  OU season tickets do not hold much value in the StubHub markets.

2.)  Anytime I go to Athens, I get free tickets.

Dude you really aren't helping yourself at all here, I don't mind you having your own opinions but this excuse is lame.  You are already admitting that you only buy OSU tickets to make money and you don't buy season tickets for OHIO because of their schedule.  If you are a real fan of OHIO and you have some extra money you use it to buy season tickets or to donate to the Ohio Bobcat Club.

I personally don't have a alot of extra money but I was able to donate to the Ohio Bobcat Club and buy my two tickets for our game against OSU and I still will probably go down to Athens for at least Homecoming.  I even made it to the Toledo game because Monroe (who lives in Cali)  gave me two of his season tickets to attend the game.  Show some real commitment to this University and its Athletics program and you will gain a lot of respect on here.

If you do actually give annual to Ohio then I apologize, I don't know your facts.  But just from your posts that seems highly unlikely.

Sarge, as you said, you don't know my facts.  When I donate to the university, I make my contribution directly to the Marching 110.  I purchase plenty of tickets for basketball games as well.  I usually only get to two football games a year, one of which is Homecoming and I don't have to pay for admittance.

I have OSU tickets because my cousin went there and now lives in Ann Arbor, and usually only comes down to a game or two, so I purchase his tickets.  I'll attend a game or two, he takes a game or two, and I sell the rest.  In no way do I donate to OSU, unless you count parking.

Thats good, you need to clarify these kind of things though when you starting getting into it with members.  Let them know your more of a basketball guy than football guy.  Though I'll tell you from some you won't get any sympathy because if you complain or criticize the football team which you don't give any money to, well then what should you be expecting from the football team?

No, you need to have at least two O-H-I-O season tickets.  They don't cost nothin'.

End of story.  Next topic.

I'm not trying to 'get into it' with anyone.  I'm getting hammered because I also support tOSU (would it be different if I supported, say, Oklahoma?) and I'm defending myself.

If you've been on this board for more than a year, I would assume that you know I follow basketball much more attentively.  If you're newer, now you know.  And if I'm buying basketball tickets, I am (indirectly) supporting the football team financially.  This also holds true for all of the negative-revenue sports.

Yes it would. Despite the fact that OSU doesn't look at us as a rival, many on this board look at OSU as one.  LC is a Nebraska fan (I'm pretty sure) and nobody gives him crap about it (that I'm aware of).

For varrious reasons, I happen to also follow/support/am a fan of Penn State football, despite never living in and rarely setting foot intside the state Pennsylvania.

It's not THAT you do, it's WHO and HOW you do that's the problem.

Orlando, you're proving my point.  The hate, envy, whatever you want to call it over OSU drives it all.  All I did was voice what Vegas confirmed today.  The people who think OSU is our rival are crazy.  They are nowhere close to a rival.

Miami and Zippy are rivals, and I wish meteor showers upon both Oxford and Akron.

I have to say I agree with Ozcat on this one.  To be a rival the playing field needs to be somewhat level, and since Ohio State's overall athletic budget is 10 times the size of ours, I don't see how Ohio State can be seen as a rival of ours.   It's probably a moot point anyway since after Saturday Ohio State won't be playing OU for quite awhile in football.  The Redbirds of Miami-now there's a rivalry!!!!!  Hate those guys........

While we're at it, my 2nd favorite college basketball team is the Tar Heels of North Carolina.  I hope that doesn't make me a pariah with my fellow Ohio alums.

It's OK to root for UNC hoops.  They aren't our rival.  The last time we played them, they didn't even give us a game.

Touche!!!  Matt Doherty was not a very good coach for UNC.  Of course I was rooting for the Bobcats in that game.

They were awful, just awful.  I am not one to get cynical and all doom and gloom after one game, but if that is the team that plays out the season, we don't even make it to 5 wins.  Now I do believe we can and probably will improve, but Saturday's game was atrocious.  I give very very little credit to Toledo and expect them to do nothing this year.  I even left a little early for the first time that I can remember because I was so disgusted.

I know we set them up with 14 points from the 2 turnovers, but let's not forget the missed to pretty easy field goals and a PAT and we made a real long FG, so 27-10 is more like it.  I didn't like the play calling, and the offense was unbearable to watch.  I've seen Boo do some great things on the field, but he was awful.  I miss Theo BIG TIME.  I miss Taylor Price, Chris Garrett, Chris Rodgers, and David White.  We lost too much talent on this offensive unit and over-estimated them.  They can improve, but as it stands now...This offense is one of the worst in the country.

Sorry, but I found myself longing for the offense I saw the last time I was at Peden when we played Temple.  That was a talented bunch that was fun to watch, and this unit is a far cry from that.  Let's hope for some good practices and significant improvement in the weeks to come.

...  Defense was actually good.  Had the offense capitalized on the 2 interceptions we would not be infuriated right now.  Their offense managed to score only 3 times out of all the drives they had....

Actually, its even better than that. Toledo only managed to score once all game when they needed a drive longer than 5 yards.

Well, I as raised in Lincoln and used to be a Nebraska fan, now I'm more of a Nebraska observer. I'm also a Northwestern alum and fan. I used to get some crap about it on here, but not so much anymore. Why? I never mention them, nor do I make any comparisons. I root for Ohio on their own merits, without regard to comparing them to any other team, and because I work hard to know the team and players, and try to contribute in a positive way to the discussion.
