Seriously State - you're not worthy of the "OHIO" word today.  Are you that insecure, that threatened by a friendly in-state game, one that you cleary have the odds on favorite in winning,  that you separate the fan base  and relegate player families to a cave with barely a view of the field?   I guess having any kind of unified cheer for the opposing team so threatens you that you make sure that you scatter them.  I guess the fact that we trumped your OH..IO cheer two years ago with a U was just too much for your fragile ego.  My God...you people live up to your name as whiners today.

Check out the Big Ten Network discussion of this...and I quote "Ohio U is just 100 miles away from Ohio State but you would think they were 500 miles judging by how few OU fans are here".

Just try to get tickets for the game.......OSU students cannot even get them so how do they expect Ohio fans to get tickets? I did notice on the Tube how they spread out the Ohio fans, like there was not an Ohio section. It was very obvious as you every so often a few Ohio fans sitting together, but not very many in any one section.

Ohio State gives the exact same sections to every visiting team.  ohio u is no different than any other visiting team.

i would agree otherwise - but something was quite different this time around.  The players couldn't even identify a section (other than where the band was).  Same number of tickets maybe - but not section.

TBDBITL (your opinion, of course) Well, then does it make it right?

I remember at V tech that OUr seats were def. in a corner, but at least we were all together.  The cheerleaders KNEW where to GO.  Were the cheerleaders running around searching for some green?

I know OSU wouldn't be happy to have two seats here , skip two rows, them maybe four more seats, then skip another few rows, then a few more>>>>>>>    lol

I don't know why or how, but I have seen MANY times a section of opponents, so I know this can't be true.  Sorry.
Have you ever LOOKED around at other games? There are sections of blue and gold, green, etc....

It is always the same section...honestly.  The same sections for the last 25+ years.  Northeast corner and southwest corner.

It is really pretty standard at most large stadiums.  I have been to every Big Ten stadium + usc, texas, pittsburgh, arizona....and they always have 2 sections of visitor seats in opposite corners.  Not making a statement of right or wrong....just stating facts.  I'll leave opinions to others.

I can't say why...maybe some Ohio U folks sold tickets to Ohio State fans...not sure.

Why would Ohio State do the same things for evey game and change it only for the Ohio U game...doesn't really make sense.

Where you there? I was, along with thousands of OHIO fans.    I was there in 2008 and then again today.  Completely different scenario.  I understand that you're having a hard time with this - but I know reality when I see it.  As for selling tickets - come on man our alumni and students have a little more school pride than that.  There are other schools in our beloved state and we're as passionate about our teams and schools as those in Columbus.

I am at every Ohio State game... I guess we will just have to agree to disagree.  What I saw is pretty much what I see at every game...no different.  Ohio State would have no reason to change their ticket policy they have had for decades for 1 game aginst ohio university.  It simply makes no sense.

Are you a player parent?  I am, and I know where we were seated before and I know the difference in how things played out this year.  This year, every player ticket was relegated to a cave.  Agree to disagree - sure I'm civil - but that doesn't change how things played out in reality.

I am not a player parent...I am an Ohio State season ticket holder...and today looked exactly like it has for the 25 years I have been going to games.

Answer my one question... Why would Ohio State change just for this game?  Do you think Ohio State is good giving sections to michigan, usc, texas, iowa, miami (fla)... but not ohio u?

Conspiracy theories usually require the involvement of multiple people and a motive. I wasn't there but I watched it on TV so I don't doubt that there were OHIO fans scattered throughout, but I think it's a stretch to insinuate that there was some sort of nefarious plot hatched against us. Of all of the things to plan and prepare for during a football season I would have to think "break up the people in green so they don't yell uuuuuu." would be pretty far down the list for the Buckeyes. If anything, I would think that after the surprisingly close game we gave them in 08 they would look forward to a little interstate rowdiness in the Shoe to make the game more entertaining.

Did you ever hear about Iowa's football coach having the visitor's locker room painted pink? It's hard to get psyched up to smack somebody in the mouth when you're getting dressed in Malibu Barbie' dream house. That's some hardcore gamesmanship right there. I just can't picture the scenario where our fans were such a threat to their success that a plan was hatched to steal our mojo.

Rather than assume that the scattered seating was a result of evil planning I think its probably better to assume that it happened as a result of a lack of planning. Sounds like somebody didn't think things through enough. Either way, what's done is done, let's try not to sound like petulant children. We've got Marshall next week at their house and they're already talking smack about how when they come to Athens they put more fans in our own stadium then we do. Knowing how bright Marshall fans are they probably think that everyone wearing green is rooting for them.

We walked away with no serious injuries, a great performance by the 110, and 850 large. Let's go kick the Blundering Turd in their tooth and sweep the MAC.

That's funny to me.  You're asking me  "one question" because you're not able to provide an adequate rationale for the point that I have raised.  I admire your 25 years of loyalty, that's a wonderful virtue for any school.  Tickets are not handwritten these days - they are software derived.  It's just as easy to scatter about as it is to print in sequence. Can you in your experience explain why all player tickets  were assigned such poor locations? (compared to two years ago)  And please, don't give me your longevity as your answer.

I call bull right there.  I was in the Shoe 3 years ago and all the Illinois fans were together with there band.  You guys had to bow to the Alumni wishes for better seats and "Tradition" type bullcrap so you could look better on TV rather than having opposing fans show you up because people like us don't play the "follow the tradition leader" bullcrap.  We scream and shout whatever comes to mind.  We don't need to wait on the "block o" section or some usher to tell us what to yell and when to yell it.  We just go and yell it and keep yelling and if people pick up then they pick up.  I find it pathetic that you OSU people depend on speakers and ushers to lead a chear.  At OUr stadium it is strictly students and people who cheer for the bobcats regardless (as opposed to people who sat near to me "see honey, aren't you glad we raised you a buckeye, you don't have to cheer for losers like them").   they just go out on a limb, if others like it then they go along.  If they don't then they come up and the process continues until we have a loud enough group going.  If you want true fans then watch the Bobcats during a MAC conference game, because we say "screw tradition, I want to have fun"

By the way tbdbinl, what's it feel like to have people clap for you but the same fans scream for us?

Well, we lost the game badly so I guess it makes sense for us to complain about a phantom ticket situation and debate whose bands is better. OU had the same sections as two years ago. It's pretty obvious that a number of things occurred. Our fans didn't buy as many tickets as years past. We didn't fulfill our allotment. We sold tix to OSU fans. Our fans wore OSU gear instead of OU. No one to blame but ourselves. People did attempt to be as loud and enthusiastic as they could. Kind of difficult to sustain that enthusiasm when you are witnessing a death match on the field.

This is a joke thread right? OSU gaves the same seating sections to all visiting teams, those are the only sections availabe after season tickets are passed out. Students did not get tickets to this game because they are not in school yet, so this is an alumni game. People need to quit thinking this is some great conspiricy and get wake up! Ohio University under Tom Boeh was the only school in the nation who put visiting teams on the 50yd line, and we quit doing that.

Was this thread started by the players mom who demanded 67 tickets (NCAA limit is 4), and screamed at the poor ticket helper accusing Ohio University of not helping her family? And when I say 67 tixs those are freebies. People need to get over it!

I am just glad this thing is over and done. Having grown up around these morons, I thought I knew what to expect. Boy am I glad I don't live in Columbus any longer. What a bunch of buck tooth front runners! These people are sorry humans.

I used bad judgment and actually went into the game (Tickets 5 rows from the top in the end zone surrounded by some real "missing link" humans)?  Why would someone pay $70 to watch a game from this location every week (or at least 8 home games every year)? Glad the ticket was free.

I may not be happy about anything this team is doing but I'm no sell out. I am behind our boys for the duration. It's in my blood.

One last item - Pryor for Heisman? Give me a break.

IF the Luckeyes make it to a National Title Game, it will be the gift of the other weak 11 schools. Top 10 Team - yes. National Champ - stop it.

This is a great topic; keep debating it back and forth.

One player's mom demanded 67 tix?  For free?  Eewww--piggie.

DCat is right.  Pryor is a nice player and buckeyes are good.  Maybe they will be natl champs but I'm not overwhelmed.  Pryor had all day to throw.  He's a runner not a good passer (uh, sound familiar?)--can't throw the short ball for his life and underthrew a sure td and threw two picks yesterday on longer balls.  Let's see how they do against a tough defense which puts quarter back pressure.

Speaking of OS-Who would someone please burn those t-shirts. Good god those are embarrassing. Almost as much as this thread. Love them or hate them, the Buckeyes play on the Big Stage and we played and coached with stage fright. Cash the big check and move on. I'm all for however  trying to schedule them as much as possible for our yearly proverbial beat-down game. The money's great and our travel costs are kept at a minimum, which helps maximize our profit margin. The Skull Session is just an added benefit to it all.

There is no reason to be rude.  I haven't insulted anyone.  I cheer for all Ohio teams.  You really need to get that chip off your shoulder.  I assure you that The OSUMB is loved by Buckeye nation as much as the 110 is loved by the bobcat nation.  The loudest cheer from the day yesterday was when The OSUMB came out for the ramp enterance.

Relax...bet the crap out of marshall and have a great year.

LOL

This thread is absurd

The visiting team sections have been the same for years.  Newsflash: Your fans sold their tickets to tOSU fans, or else went to the game with them or decided to wear tOSU gear instead.  Most of your fan base probably decided to make a quick buck rather then to go witness a beat down, after all the economy is bad and OU just played the Shoe 2 seasons ago

In terms of where the parents sat, pretty sure OU is free to allocate the tickets they receive as they please in terms of who gets to sit where.   Why would we care what part of your ticket allotment you give to the players parents?
