There's an argument to be made that this is the most important game of Frank's tenure here.  Six years into the process of building a stable program you simply cannot lose to a team like EMU.  But I think it's 50-50 at best.

Won't argue that this is crucial for many reasons and that the most high profile of those is validation of the fact that Coach has a solid foundation in place at this point in his tenure.

I will also go on record as saying though, that this game is not in question if Boo is taking all the snaps with the 1's this week...If so we're going to see the team we all expected going into this season on Saturday.

I believe we have suffered from the uncertainty the QB position has endured ever since Boo was granted his Medical Redshirt.  In the absence of that (and don't get me wrong I totally support the ensuing competition for that position and love that Boo got a much deserved additional year) I don't think we lost either the
Toledo or the Terd game.  However, the shard time hurt both candidates in this case.  If Boo wasn't a factor (right or wrong) I think Phil is treated as defacto from day one and gets enough snaps to bring him up to speed.  With Boo in the equation though, I'm guessing promises that were made to Phil during transfer discussions became a serious stumbling block.

While it's a tough way to go for Phil at this point, I think the staff needs to sit down with him and discuss the fact that at this stage in his development under OUr system, the team's best interests improve drastically if his talents are put to use in other ways for the remainder of the season and that true competition will be opened up again in the Spring.  I've been quiet on the Albin front thus far, but you simply can not let a single player's situation influence the direction of the program...

That said though we need to step away from the ledge...Ask Purdue and WVU how they feel about our shared opponents...

I say we ROLL Eastern and it helps put butts in seats for the BG game...

We open as 8 point favorites. Keep in mind we were 10 point favorites vs. Toledo. Just sayin.

The highest attendance listed in a box score for a MAC game in 2009 for EMU was 3,364.
They have 20K+ listed for one this year, but it was against CMU.

I'd put your actual around what they announce, and half of your actual as my actual.

I agree that this game is critical. I know that the staff and players will give their best effort to get back on the winning side.
It seems that the MAC as a whole has been in a stupor this season with one or two exceptions. I have never seen so many teams from one conference get out coached as bad as the MAC coaches have been this year.

I am a fan of Boo but he really needs some help from the other offensive weapons, whoever and wherever they are!

Backs against the wall, tons on the line for the season and future of the program. No way we lose this game. Seniors wont let this one slip away, defense will come up big.

Attendance: Go to a Division I high school game this weekend and you might have more in attendance.

Vegas continues to up the spread, now 10.
Since we don't seem to cover these we need the spread to increase.

Nice info, Ted. Frank has mentioned several times that several guys are banged up and somewhat limited in practice but that they probably would play. He doesn't usually specify who, so this clears that up a lot.

While others continue to dis the conf and our squad, I want to confirm here in Cinci the game is on Direct TV (at least listed) if you buy ESPN Gameplan.

This may be common sense to many but I can never seem to figure this TV thing out. FWIW.

I don't think you have to buy GamePlan. It's supposed to be on in the Cincy market on the CW (channel 25 I believe). In Dayton, it will be on channel 22. Here the ESPN Regional affiliates:

Ted, Thanks for that injury update. I watched The Blitz last night and Allie mentioned 5-7 guys out but did not mention names except she questioned Frank on Riley. He said it looks like he is out 1-2 weeks. As we know Frank  never seems to show his cards when it comes to injuries.
My only concern in this game is centered around the fact that we tend to play down to our competition.
We obviously need this game and to show improvement.
I am living in RI and have Direct TV and I am waiting for them to publish all of their games for Saturday to see if I can get it. If not my back up is channelsurfing.net.

At 2:30PM I spotted the Ohio Bobcat equipment truck and sag van near the stadium in Ypsilanti--No boots on.  Looking forward to see the Cats roll tomorrow at noon right after a night on the town in Ann Arbor--wishing you were all here to witness the start of 8 straight!

Arkley reporting that Keller did not make the trip. Curtis Meyers and Nathan Caldwell are out. Scott, Bates, Brazill, Carlotta, Herman and Dunlop all on the travel roster. Would be huge if all those guys can play.

Boo Jackson to start. Phil Bates there only in case of emergency. Tettleton will be redshirted so Kyle Snyder is #3 quarterback today.

First - go Illini. Sorry for your pain.

2nd - everyone knew a fake punt was coming except us.

3rd - everyone knew Thomas was the target for the fade except us.
