+1

EDIT ADD: And the speakers with the crap music in the stadium do the same thing the marching band does.

ADD 2: Spoke to a friend who works in the athletic department. Was told the following: "(Cheerleaders) will be going to the rest of our away games. Temple is TBD (due to the fact that it is during the week). They were not originally going to Eastern Michigan because our administration felt there would not be a large fan base at that game so did not feel it necessary to travel the cheerleaders. We were pulled from the Marshall game the Wednesday before due to the whole "Rufus incident". I was told by administration that they felt it best for just the football team to travel and have all focus on the football team..."

Can I have a Bull**** on what the administration told you?  Cheerleaders were going on this game.  ICA got their money back on the rooms but had to pay the guarantee on the meals.  Just another "can't answer an honest question by the guy in charge"

hold a little plastic football above your head, and people pay attention.

I would highly doubt that happened.  I used to go to Hocking and they made it next to impossible to get kicked out.  Then again, that was when it was still under the presidency of John Light when things there made no sense whatsoever.  This new guy seems to be cracking down on things so they may have well done it too.  Now if that is the case I say that is very harsh as mascot fights happen all the time.  In my opinion we are now acting worse than Columbus with this and we just need to move on.  If they don't want this incident to serve as a distraction then they need to stop talking about it as they keep bringing it up therefore causing the "distraction"

Cheerleaders and Mascot are both under Athletics but I still don't get why cheerleaders are punished for mascot's good work.
