Having said that...
Does Coach Solich have any plans on sitting either Boo Jackson or any of the players for part/all of the game against TU?

If a TU player did anything of the sort they would be suspended for the rest of the season (if you don't believe it...just ask Junior Gallette (now with the Saints,) Jamal Shulters-both tossed from team during summer training or our SR punter Jeff Wathne- sent home before TU first Bowl game in 30 years.

Were you there? How do you know what he "did" or didn't do? Is being punched in the face a crime? No charges have been filed, and there's been nothing in the news to suggest that a suspension is warranted.

From what I've read, players are supposed to be on campus on Saturday night. Also, if your Coach is called down late on a Saturday night to a drinking establishment on a Saturday night...heads really should be rolling.

Also, not just talking about Boo, but the other players that were said to have been looking for the bouncer that cold-cocked him.

I'm not coming here to flame...I just want to know what is going on.

Think you maybe a wee bit confused on order of events here... Not that I can blame you as details have been scarce. The events took place Friday night, not Saturday. The order to stay on campus Saturday was a result of this incident, not in force prior to the incident.

There were no rules broken by the players being out on Friday night.

Breaking up a fight isn't a crime. "Looking" for someone is also not a crime.

If this is your idea of not flaming, I'd like to see what actual flaming is.

the "drinking establishment" you refer to is called Courtside Pizza. Yes they serve beer there too, but so does Pizza Hut. Does Golden prohibit his players from going there?

Thank you...I appreciate it. I thought it  was a general rule to stay on campus...not as a result of what happened.

Anyway, getting back to my original point... does anyone suspect that suspension will be handed down for the incident that happened between Friday night/Saturday morning.

How was it a suspendable offense? I'm just curious as to what "info" you're going off of here.

I have yet to see an account saying Boo was throwing punches, most have indicated he was trying to break up the initial fight and seems to have just been at the wrong place at the wrong time.

Maybe more details will surface but Jackson has not been suspected of being in the wrong here. At least not in a manner in which disciplinary action would be neccessary.

I've never been to a Pizza Hut that hired a bouncer. That's why I called it a "drinking establishment".

It's not like Boo was killing dogs who did not perform well in dog fights.  I bet a bunch of Temple fans/grad cheer Mike Vick on during his Sunday games.

Also, do us a favor, either bring all your programs to the MAC or leave!

PLEASE...don't confuse me with a Philadelphia Professional Sports team fan.

Our also, our men's basketball program is 12-5 against the MAC and our women's program is undefeated. The arrangement is beneficial as it is to TU and the MAC.

Between the two Temple fans we've encountered thus far, there's been a lot more grasping at straws than I would have expected from fans of such a powerhouse...

I love the smell of fear in the Fall...

I will briefly educate you on how Frank handles players who commit crimes.

Donte Harden, the starting runningback, was suspended six games for a DUI he incurred this winter. A.J. Oxley, starting D-Line, suspended 6? games for a drinking and driving related incident. Oh, and our starting punter was kicked off the team by Frank the night before our second bowl game in 40 years.

Why are you guys jumping at this Temple guy?  Re-read his stuff.  Unlike the other Temple guy, this fellow is benign.  He merely wonders what's going on and has basically admitted that he didn't have a perfect grasp of the facts.

Good to see that we've got OUr game faces on, I guess.

+1 for the Temple fan

Also, these visiting Temple fans are catching a lot of flak. I prefer a little more friendly banter; we're coming off as Ohio State fans.

[QUOTEt]"We want OHIO at full strength".[/QUOTE]

You got a good faith healer we don't know about?

'Cause you're not getting Ohio at full strength whether Boo plays or doesn't play. Without Noah Keller and LaVon Brazill, not even close to it.

His initial posts did not have the facts straight at all. He only admitted so after his inaccuracy was pointed out to him.

Frankly (not a reference to Solich), I hope both the Cats and the Owls are at the fullest strength possible.  Should be a great game.

Thank you for the good banter. I appreciate some of your ability to have civil dialogue.
I really do hate these Tuesday games, being forced to sit through a Saturday watching other teams play.

Are any of you folks planning on making the trek out to Philly...if you need any suggestions. Don't be afraid to ask.

TmplOwl: Thanks for your quieries. We don't have any real idea of the facts, OU is very secretive about these issues, really anything at all.

As far as a suspension goes, if Boo did something wrong, it will be dealt with. As far as I know, being at a pizza joint Friday night isn't an issue. Fighting is. Sneaking an underage recruit into a bar is. Gettin drunk and actin a fool is. All of these are rumors. OU is a bit of a different place than most campuses, even ones in small towns. Its hard to define a drinking establishment here. Either everything is, or there is grey area. I remember rent-a-cops at D.P. dough at 3 in the morning. Things definitely could get heated at a pizza place open late here.

Boo appears by many accounts to be a stand up guy. Stays at Peden to greet fans until they leave, hard worker, isn't on a first name basis at the bars...I've never heard anything negative about him.

Anyway, thanks for bringing a noteworthy team to the MAC.

I agree with the posters that think some of us are acting more like tOSU fans than like OHIO fans with the replies to this Temple guest.  It is not like there hasn't been a fair amount of speculation and questions from OUr own folks.

Friendly banter and curiosity should be welcomed here.

I'm a current OU student that lives in the greater philadelphia area, so it was entirely possible and was planning on going to the game to meet up with some of my friends that go to Temple/in the Diamond band, but thanks to the lovely quarter system, the game is scheduled at the beginning of finals week, so i decided to actually try and pass my finals rather than travel from Athens, to Philly, back to Athens the next day, and then back to Philly 5 days later.

But, i will be watching the game on TV and cheering my butt off like i would be at the game.

Scott,
I can tell you where NOT to go...and that is the tourist traps of Pat or Genos.

The best place to go in South Philly close to the stadium is:
Tony Lukes
39 E. Oregon Ave., Philadelphia, PA 19148  - (215) 551-5725

BTW, on 97.5 The Fanatic (Philadelphia) you can hear Ohio U alumnus Dan Schwartzman on the radio evenings. I invited him to come and sit with me during the game, but a) he has to work that evening and b) his wife just gave birth.
