What a sad post this is. This sort of thing does absolutely no good for anyone involved. Let the authorities both city and university sort this out. In the meantime it does no good to call for boycotts or anything else.
Really Alan? Do you own stock in Courtside? Is David Cornwall a golfing buddy? I understand your point if we're talking about some violent form of retribution, but I say bring on a boycott. Let's review the facts.
There was a dangerous amount of force (perhaps we could use the word excessive) used...
This happened outside the actual bar...
2 star OU athletes at the same establishment in 6 months...
We haven't heard word one from Courtside about how they plan to curb these disturbances...
Granted we might not have enough to go beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law, but if you take everything into account (even beyond the points that bobcatblitz makes about race, which are pretty damning) there's plenty here for people to be angry with Courtside Pizza about.
So alright, maybe it's still a beat early to be talking about a boycott, I'll even give you that. But I certainly wouldn't term the idea of one as "sad" and further, if the investigation closes with no charges and Cornwall doesn't come out with a statement on how he's going to improve the Courtside experience (stop hiring employees with criminal records, specific rules of engagement for bouncers that must be followed, whatever else) then I think it is in fact time to start talking boycott. Too much smoke for there not to be fire somewhere on this. Something needs to change.
