I am completely dumbfounded by the line. Just us being 9-3 and them being 7-5. But the trajectories of the teams...or how we played 8 MAC games and only had 1 OT loss and had 6 wins by 2 TDs+. Are they overestimating how much Toledo may have been resting the final 2 weeks? Are the severely downgrading the Bobcats without Rourke?

I'd feel good at Ohio -7. Ohio +4.5 makes me tempted to become a gambling man.
This is exactly how I feel as well. If you have been paying attention, this is free money IMO.
You hit the nail right on the head! I have made a ton off Ohio this year and have won on them for two months now without a failed cover. I’m still baffled that Toledo is still the favorite here. The line has moved but Ohio is still the dog. Ohio has eight…EIGHT….straight covers and has won 7 straight outright! Toledo has lost 3 of their last 5 and hasn’t been good ATS. When the line hovers around 1 it’s essentially a pick because there’s no tie in college football. It’s basically a money line game. So yes Vegas, you’ve been filling my pockets with money all season and have stuffed my pockets for two straight months on Ohio, but if you’re now also going to give me even more money yet again to watch Ohio win the MAC Championship, I say - yes please!!!

In response to Finn, he might not even play, and if he does, he’s still hurt. He was horrendous last week vs WMU and clearly still can’t move on that ankle and he was pulled from the game and was back in a walking boot on the sidelines. He’s not going to heal in a week after still laboring from what he’s been dealing with for a month now....

Finn apparently sprained his ankle against Ball State on 11/8. Even a moderate sprain typically takes 4-6 weeks to heal, and I've seen his sprain described as a high ankle sprain, which can take 2-6 months to completely heal. My recollection is that Everson had a high ankle sprain in the 2d to last game of the regular season in 2006. He tried to play in the MACC a few weeks later, but couldn't, just as Finn tried to play against WMU, but couldn't.

I expect Finn to try to play in the MACC. Given that will be only four weeks after his injury, I expect him to be heavily taped to protect his ankle, and between the injury and the taping, I don't expect him to be as mobile as usual, and I will not be surprised if he doesn't last the entire game.

I'd expect him to at least try to go. Last week he couldn't step into throws so they sailed on him, although the pick-six was just a bad decision. Unless he's improved this week he'll probably stick to shorter passes that don't require the footwork. I imagine they'll be switching off between him and Gleason, at least in the early going. Neither did well last week.

I've been to Ford Field for every MAC Championship Game that OHIO has appeared in. Each one was a disappointment, especially the NIU come from behind win with a FG in the waning seconds providing the margin of victory. When I think of that game, the image that always comes to mind is Ted Thompson, who was sitting close to me in another row, taking his program and ripping it and throwing it down in anger. That kind of summarized, I think, how all of us felt. I hope that we all walk away from the stadium this time with smiles on our faces and humming Stand up and Cheer. Go OHIO!

I wouldn't be surprised to see Finn try to go, but the question will be, can he go. The answer was no last week and he's not going to heal that quick from what he's dealing with. He's not a drop back pocket passer and that's what they tried to do with him last week. It failed. Miserably. He's nowhere near healthy and Harris is better than Finn right now. Gleason has had a few flashes in his few games but he's wildly inconsistent and let's face it, he's playing with a steel plate in his hand. He's not healthy either. Again, Harris is probably still better than Gleason right now. I expect to see Finn trot out there for a series or two, but I expect to see Gleason taking the majority of the snaps. Which again, is good for Ohio.

I've seen all those games as well, and this one just feels much different going in to it for me. Ohio has had almost everything going its way leading into this one all MAC season long, and comes in on an absolute tear with the best team in the MAC. Most of the other previous MACC games I felt Ohio might win or could win, whereas this year it feels like they will win. I didn't expect an Ohio win in either of the CMU games. The NIU game was obviously the one that got away and the one Ohio should have won. I felt Ohio had a shot vs WMU and when WMU kept having to settle for FG's, it kept Ohio around all game long and if not for that pick on the final drive, that game had upset written all over it. Toledo comes limping into this one big time and I think Ohio will roll them. I just can't see Ohio losing this game. This is Ohio's year.

Edit: We are not going to the Bash, but just got an invitation to a Friday OHIO Happy Hour. We plan to attend that. If you are going, perhaps we could meet face-to-face.

Feels good to have a pretty reliable kicker, and in a dome that could be a huge advantage.

Also, CJ on turf... speed speed speed

Am I correct that a win on Saturday would not only give us the MAC Championship but also the first FBS regular season where OHIO reached double-digits in wins? We reached 10 wins in 2011, but the 10th win was in the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl. The 1960 team that went 10-0 was in a lower division at that point, right?
For the record, the 1960 team not only went 10-0 and won the MAC championship, they were declared (AP?) National Small College Champions.

In 1960, the team played in the Small College Division, but I believe the team was elevated to the University Division in 1961.

Is the MACCG considered a "regular season" game? I always it was a "post-season" game. It's never included in the standings as a "conference" game.

Sports Illustrated is predicting:

OU - 38
Toledo - 35

So... bet the over?

We've been getting a lot of coverage from the fancy Capital City press.

Heard that their college football team didn't make their conference championship game.

Nice for us simple Appalachian folk to have our day.

It is a postseason game and has no bear on any league standings, does still count in overall records and all stats go into season and career totals.
