How would you like us to respond?
It was an upset....Do you want  me to cry about our running back getting hurt on the first play or the bad officiating?
We were 10 point favorites and blew it by not playing our best game and making stupid mistakes.
Do you want me to point out the fact that Ohio has NEVER won a bowl game? Do you want to get into that?
Don't be jerks...if you can't take some smack talk then don't come on your board!
You won.. congratulations! Good luck against Kent State.

LOL sorry TUVideo Guy but your fellow fan MH55 ruined any civility toward you guys for the most part.  It was rough losing your starting RB, but OHIO already knows that pain having lost our most electrifying WR/Kick Returner and the leader of our defense this year.  I don't remember the officiating being any worse than any other MAC game.  Plus bringing up the bowl situation is mute in my opinion.  Your just another step on Solich's Bobcat Building Program.

Since you're the Video Guy, why don't you tell us about the "bad officiating"? Over and over the replays showed that the officials calls on the field were correct. The only exception to that came on an incorrect ball spot, in which case the call on the field was favorable to Temple, and was overturned in the booth, taking away 2 yards that were incorrectly awarded to Temple, and removing an incorrect first down. For example, I'm sure that the Temple coach will be embarrassed by his whining performance over the first fumble call after he sees the video, which left no room for doubt that the funble was recovered by Ohio. Similarly on the holding calls, the replays showed Ohio defensive linemen being not only held, but tackled, and there was never a doubt that the call was correct.

Then don't bring your weak ass school to this site if you can't take it. East Coast School gets all the hype because it's in Philly and can't get it done. Period. Talk about players lost - (1) FR All-American and (2) pre-season All-Americans who are the best at their position in the entire conference. Pierce is a walking Red Cross Wagon. Good luck getting a full season out of him. See you and Fiami in Athens next year.

What I dont understand is Temple keeps talking about losing their best running back ect ect - maybe he had all of the hype but stastically - it appears that he is just 50% of their running game

Boy you guys have a huge inferiority complex!

"Mean old Temple gets all the press because they're from the East Coast"

You guys won! Congrats!

I was at the game and the officiaiting was terrible. The one interception was pass interference...the spot... an offensive pass intereference call from the other side of the field.
I"m not going to make excuses though and that's my point.  Solich is a very good defensive coach and they schemed us well. Unfortunately we kept running a five foot five back into the middle of the line over and over.

I will say I was disappointed in the mocking of the Temple sideline by Ohio. IMO that shows a lack of discipline.

Again.. good luck against Kent State.. Hopefully you'll root for us against Miami of Ohio.

TUVideo Guy,

As has been stated, Mark Hunter's trolling has tainted our view of Temple fans and has resulted in a great deal of celebration, none of which is pointed at you or any other level headed fan.  The continuing smack talk on your board revolving around the continual unfounded claims to the legacy that is Temple football though, doesn't help matters.    Everyone has history but parading around like you're too good for the MAC just because you happen to be located in a major market (when reality is that you have 2 wins against bowl eligible opponents since gracing the MAC with your presence) doesn't exactly foster good relationships with your peers.

As far as the officiating goes, it's almost always terrible in the MAC and it works both ways.  There were a number of late hits that Temple got away with.  Speaking of which, if we're going to talk to discipline lets talk about Peanut.  It's no wonder things got chippy / taunty.

As has also been covered, we'll see your Pierce loss with the loss of one Pre-Season All American on each side of the ball.

Truthfully, good spirited common sense banter is always welcome here...But you should consider a little self policing where Mark is concerned before the bias is irreparable.

Hey pal, we weren't the ones doing the bragging. We weren't concerned with all that jibber jabber, all of the Photoshopping, all of the pre-game crap. We were busy getting ready to beat the brakes off of you fools on national TV. And you can blame it on whatever you'd like. Blame it on the rain. We've been as beset with injuries as anyone, but we weren't thinking about that when were busy hanging 31 points on your vaunted defense. If you want to call that an upset, then you can still buy into those BS media storylines. Here's the scoop, Temple fans: Don't talk any mess if you're not ready to get it handed right back in your smug faces. Don't poke the bear in the zoo.

What?????  You guys are the ones that were talking smack and then when it gets thrown back in your faces you claim that we are the ones that can't take it?  You guys have been talking big all season but have nothing to back it up.

And are you really complaining about the refs and injuries?

You shouldn't really let MH55 get you riled up.  If you do then you've made him happy as that was probably his goal.

Why the hatred for Miami of Ohio? Sadly I'm not that schooled in Ohio geography..Are they worse than Akron?
Temple fans hate Penn State more than anything...

It is so dope that we have put these clowns in their place 2 years in a row. Hopefully we've officially put to rest the notion that Temple is the class of the East. No Brazill, No Keller and a one eyed Boo...and we still beat the crap out of them.

Oh, and have you seen a more empty stadium for a nationally televised game?

LOL, you think our sideline mocking your idiotic sideline dancing is a lack of discipline but the actual idiotic dancing is not?  You guys prance and preen with a sense of entitlement that is completely undeserved.  You are no different than UCF who came into the MAC expecting to walk all over the league only to leave with their collective tales between their legs on their way to "bigger and better" things. Let me know when you guys actually beat a MAC team with a winning record.

I suspect that once you get a chance to look at the video you may change your opinion. The offensive pass interference was not shown in a replay, so I can't comment on it, and it was probably the most questionable call of the game. Most of the calls were shown over, and were pretty clearly correct.

The Temple sideline dance is a thinly veiled taunting of the other team, and disrespects opponents. I don't think Ohio should have done it back at them, but I'd urge you to think about your own words. If you don't like getting it back at you, what makes you think that it is ever appropriate for Temple to do in the first place?

I was actually pretty impressed by the turnout considering the conditions. And yes I have seen a more empty stadium. The night before when my Redskins got pole-axed the Eagles you could have landed a plane in parts of the stadium in the second half and nobody would have been hurt..

TUVideo Guy - Are you the same guy that sprinted out to the center of the field through the tunnel when you were introduced for Senior night?

Mad props if that was you.

Wait..are Temple fans allowed to hate Penn State?  Can't you love both schools? As they play in different conferences and Penn State's program is at a different stature than Temple's. Doesn't Penn State represent the state of Pennsylvania?  How can you not want them to represent you?  I'm sure Penn State fans do not reciprocate the hate...do they?  Don't Temple students wear Penn State jerseys on Temple campus?  I can't understand how this is possible.

That's the way we feel about Ohio State.  I'm sure for similar reasons.  Although I doubt Penn State ever sued you for the right to call themselves Temple.

It's a bit embarrassing that one troll has this board so riled, but we have an understandable chip on our collective shoulders. In both hoops and football, the national media is always shocked at any success. Those of us who follow our teams know that they have huge potential and don't deserve to be talked about as red-headed stepchildren. For the latest example, look at last night's play-by-play.

My problem with many Temple fans is that they support a team carpetbagging into the MAC in one sport, and that fan base seems to really think their school too good for the conference before coming close to winning a damn thing. I'm not saying that's how you are, but the misguided arrogance of a lot of Owl fans is palpable.

As to our loathing for Miami, it extends well beyond the realm of sport. This is an oversimplification, but the schools are similar in age, size and appearance (ours is older, slightly bigger and much more attractive), but have very different student bodies. Miami's stereotype of Ohio is that it's full of pot-smoking communists who only party. Ohio's stereotype of Miami is that it's full of delusional rich snobs who actually think their "public ivy" is equivalent to Harvard. I had the misfortune of living in Oxford for a year after I graduated from Ohio, and it made my hatred of Miami even stronger.

The original message in this thread is just more trash talk, yet you criticize us for not being able to take trash talk.  We take it and we dish it out.

And just an FYI - You were 7.5 point favorites, not 10.

I totally understand your thoughts on Temple carpetbagging. Frankly I dont want to be in the MAC forever. I want to be back in a BCS conference. Is Temple ready? Hell no.. We'd have to dominate the MAC first and we've proven this year that we can't beat its best.... yet.

That said... we owe the MAC Conference a HUGE debt... without the MAC there would be no Temple football.

We're currently EXTREMELY bitter that Villanova was offered a slot in the Big East and not us... Nova is a DIV IAA school and we hate them for the same reasons you hate Miami.. They look down on us as thugs from the inner city while they think of themselves as the upper crust.

We hate Penn State for the same reason too... they however love to "Root:" for Temple as you would a baby learning to walk.. "Look honey how cute that baby is... it won't ever hurt us though"  My one wish is to beat Penn State and we almost did it this year.

So don't take the carpetbagging personally. I enjoy MAC Football and watch all the games I can. Its' the perfect place for Temple and while some may THINK Temple is better... we haven't proven it yet.
