I think Temple gets a nod ahead of us. Fairness really doesn't have alot to do with it. Its mainly about $ and Temple is in a big media market. I hope we can squeak into a bowl but I am not very optimistic.
I'm not so sure it's about the media market per se. To most bowls I think it's more of a matter of which team they think will bring more fans to the game, whose team travels better.
As far as the MAC schools are concerned traveling out to a western bowl its all considered a toss up. If overall records are equal then its time to look at head to head matchups or the polls. Ohio is ranked #38 in the Harris poll this week while Temple is unranked. Ohio beat both Miami and Temple this season. Temple didnt beat a MAC school with a winning record. I would put Toledo ahead of Ohio with the LCPB connection and a victory over Ohio but not Temple.
I would think that Temple's rather easy win over Connecticut who may be headed to a BCS bowl would figure into a bowl's equation, plus they can talk themselves into Pierce being available to play and being a difference maker.
I hope this things don't count for much, but I have to say, if I were being objective, that if I were on a bowl committee, I would probably go with Temple when you add in the market advantage.
