Great post full of excuses. Well, I'm a firm believer that excuses are like A-holes, everybody has one.
Now to the facts.... We simply had to beat a sub-par MAC team to win the MAC E. We didn't show-up and nobody deserves a special thanks. How many games did Boo find a way to lose w/ all of his turnovers. Dating back, several years ago, to C Mich at home when he fumbled on the goal line. He has been prolifically prone to turning the ball over.
Kent was prepared? They had more film to look at than we did? Can I laugh out loud real quick? They beat us......or we beat OUrselves? Wake-up brother

It seems the one common denominator a MAC champion has to have is a drop dead stud QB.  Central Michigan had Lefevoure (and look where CMU is now without him), Northern Illinois has Harnish, and Miami just might have two. Do we have one on our roster?  Maybe we have decent QBs but are they stud QBs?  I'm not so sure.  Maybe they will develop into ones in time but I don't think we have the best QBs right now in the MAC.

How about the fact the offensive line got its butt totally kicked? We couldn't run or throw. Boo was awful but he had a lot of help in that department.

Writing in ALL-CAPS is nature's way of saying "Don't touch."

I'd wager there is nary a message board on the internets or intranets where people don't eviscerate players after a bad game. Maybe at Polyanna University (or Polyanna as the media is forced to call it by AD decree). When it comes to recruiting, I'm sure their polite fanboards more than make up for their lack of facilities... or tradition... or location... or national status... or conference...

Completely ignorant, and written by someone that would write something in all boldface italics.

Nobody brought up the recruiting challenges and the drinking/OSU issues during the last 2 MAC East titles. Why now?

Jackass.

Love,

We can do without the personal attacks. I hope you can make your point without name-calling.

We have recruited draftable player. Recruiting is not the problem. It is the conservative play calling and the bad scouting that people are complaing about. Why can't we get a top 5 MAC Quarterback and Running Back.I don't think he should fired but they need to bring in a better judge of talent for these positions. T-Mac runs 4.4 and is 6'4" he should have a thousand yards but we don't have an accurate quarterback or a breakout tailback. He should be offensive Player of the year. The O-line has been average to below average.Come on lets get the right guys here and win.

Trust me, no one else on this board is any more frustrated, angry, PO'ed right now than yours truly. But if you stand away from all of that for a few seconds, maybe you'll find another perspective that isn't merely lashing out ...
  1. Give some credit to Kent State's defense; in fact, give a LOT of credit to their defense. This is what we expected to see last week at Temple!
  2. Accept the fact that given the difficulties this year's 'Cats have faced from the get-go, they aren't a championship-caliber team. I'm referring primarily to injuries but also hinting at other issues affecting the roster.
  3. Appreciate the fact that despite that, OUr 'Cats made it interesting until the final weekend!
Still, losing is never fun

I just threw-up in my mouth after reading this..........News Flash OU didnt show-up!! Kant has 21 pts off turnovers...

T-Rodge, that's "lashing out" ... and essentially saying the entire team and staff figured they could go through the motions and walk away with a win.  I'm just not buying that.

Yeah, I was lashing out. But, please explain to me which facet of this game we dominated.....or even competed in...
Edit, in OUr last few big games, including last year's post-season, we've stayed vanilla and repeatedly insisted on unsuccessfully attempting to run the ball up the middle.... why? Fire Albin

I had to work today, so I didn't see or even hear it on the radio, so I can't give accurate points about what happened today.

However... I think this was probably due to a lack of focus.  And if anybody would like to argue, take a gander at the Temple game.  Blew them away the first 3 quarters and 10 minutes of the fourth.  However, even when Temple started to come back, we were too busy celebrating to close them out.  Wouldn't a 4-7 team be easy to overlook?

Today sounds like we saw how far we've come but how far we've had to go.  Bad schedule or not, an 8-4 season is something I did not expect after we lost 3 of our first four.  However, we were not ready to play week in and week out at the top of our game (losing the best 2 players doesn't come into play here, look at our preformance against Buffalo and UL Lafyette compared to the first part of Temple and the Miami game).  It even cost us in the Pizza Bowl against Marshall last year.

When we can put together 4 quarters 12 weeks of the season, trust me, we'll be champions.

I realize this is a message board.  But you should at least have some clue about the game and history before starting such a moronic thread.

Yes, we had the MAC's best 8 game road win streak record end today.  It also ended our all time record of 7 straight games of 30+ OFFENSIVE points.  An Ohio offensive record that has stood for more than 100 years.

The football would not even stay on the grass without blowing away today.  You might say it was a tad windy.  Not exactly ideal for our all-time TD pass record holding QB.  Today was an all around blunder of poor play.

To call for the firing of of Albin because of one game when he his 2010 offense has re-written the record books is absurd.

Yeah, my bad. those record were sooo prestigious...lol! More importantly, all those records don't amount to a hill of beans without execution when it means the most. DCAT- pull ur head out of the sand. LOL- it was the winds' fault

Open your eyes.  I did not say it was the winds fault?  It said it was not a day suited for any passing game.  It was a complete blunder of a performance.

However, to call for the firing of Albin when he has just delivered one of our best offensive seasons in more than 100 years makes you look quite the fool.  Or maybe your football knowledge is more suited to the x-box version of game.

I and my crew attended today's game.  What I saw from the offense was basically uninspired and unimaginative.  OUr offensive line was a complete joke.  They need to apologize to everyone on the team because basically they never showed-up.  Kent absolutely owned them from top to bottom.  As for the offensive play calling, it too was a joke.  Sorry, but the offense stunk-up the field today.

How can a team show-up for a game where the division title is at stake and play the way we did today?  Please do not tell me that the wind was a factor.  We had everything on the line and failed miserably.  We permitted a mediocre team to humiliate us on national television.  I put a lot of that blame on the staff!

You’re a class act as indicated by your juvenile and tasteless avatar and choice of childish vocabulary.  FYI- we play in the MAC.  None of our teams have ever won a national title.

If you call yourself a fan…why would call for the firing of Albin when he just produced one of our best offensive seasons in school history?  Then again, look who I am asking.

I keep hearing how difficult it is to recruit. Is it really that difficult to recruit a couple road grader type running backs? Seriously? Since Kalvin graduated we have been without a serious running game.

We have a road grader... but he doesn't see the field for whatever reason... We'd rather run outside from the pistol on short yardage than just hand it to #20 and let him bowl people over...

Also, before we pile on too much... this Offensive Line was absolutely decimated to start the year... nobody expected anything from them... and they went 11 games only giving up 10 sacks... 7 sacks today was terrible... but 10 on the year from a young line is amazing.  The future is extremely bright... I'm assuming these guys have a very very bad taste in their mouth right now and are already looking ahead to next year to take care of this...

This sucks and I don't know what the answer is...but I'm hopeful.... because if I'm not at least hopeful then why the hell am I doing this to myself?

Let's be honest the play calling has been suspect and the talent at certain positions has been average. Stop with calling this great coaching, it is not. Tim Albin is smarter than you and I, but I bet if you asked him he would say things should improve. Go Cats

Please, fans on here are some of the few that put any money out. Offensive coordinators are the most criticized coaches there are...everywhere. If Coach Albin's career continues on its upward trajectory (from passing game coordinator at Nebraska to OC at N. Dakota St. to OC at Ohio) the scrutiny will increase exponentially. I think Coach Albin wouldn't lay all of this at the feet of his players. There was plenty of blame to go around about what happened at Kent State.

For the record, I have "put on the pads and taken the field", albeit a long time ago.  Further, at one point during the game as I sat behind the offensive bench I was tempted to go down to the edge of the stands and make a comment or two to the players/coaches.  Years ago I probably would have.  With age I have learned to shut up.  Perhaps that is wrong.  However, as the game went on I did at one point suggest loudly that perhaps they should start playing some time soon.

I will also be the first to admit that I was never a great player, just an average kid who loved the game, I can tell you as a former lineman when someone on the "o-line" is getting whipped and today I saw basically the entire o-line getting man-handled play after play.  To me it was humiliating just watching the smack-down that Kent was delivering play after play.  Sorry, but it was that obvious.  Further, no real fire on the sidelines between series either from any offensive coach.

Are you serious? Lets see, yes the o-line is banged up. I know, lets run up the gut! Lets have Boo pass from the pocket! BTW only ONE coach is under the bus. As long as the play calling is this limp and does not take into account any of our strengths and weaknesses, the future is only as bright as this season.

How is this thread dumb? What game had a good gameplan? DONT tell me to look at the score. That will just let me know you didn't see the game.

It was the WIND that blew running backs into the 1-2 gap and held Boo in the pocket. My bad, completely missed that facet of the game...

Sweet. Scored a crap ton of points before this game. Ever see them adapt? Nope.

Listen here coach, last time I checked, it was the staffs duty to make play calls. When the calls don't work, you change the plan. NOT get your tail kicked in over and over again. Any football fan can see this. I'm suprised you can't with your obvious massive football experience.
