Wanny...

I never said you didn't have the right to your opinion...I simply expressed mine  I spend far more time researching / enjoying / commenting on my Bobcats than I do picking on A&M.  As a college football fan though,  I find it insulting what their uniforms buy them year after year so I make it my secondary hobby to point out the fallacy.

I just happen to think Arkansas / Boise would have been a huge step in the right direction for college football and moronic commentary from the likes of head lemming E. Gordon Gee (Ohio A&M SOS 56 - Boise State SOS 63 as of 12/4 for the record) just makes watching it unfold all the more enjoyable.  The fact that one has access to a microphone does not translate into one's right to use it.

To quote a wise man...

Hey Gordon... "don't let the facts get in your way"

36: My comments were not directed at specifically at you.....More for a masses of those who fit the mold...Why not point out the money issues of pretty much every one of the Major Conferences, Oregon, Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Michigan, Notre Dame, Wisconsin, USC, Oklahoma, Texas, Nebraska, and many more are just as guilty as OSU in the problems that exist.  Rants of some would have more legitimacy if they showed a more wholistic approach, instead of making one team the evil villian every time.

Oh yeah I know...Just clarifying my stance...

Honestly, I'd like to say that my bias is completely regionally grown (and I won't argue thhat it started out that way) but in reality it seems like A&M manages to rise above even the other big time programs on the obnoxious meter.  I don't see Florida State players stating that they are from THE Florida State University and I certainly don't see other University Presidents making uninformed and completely inaccurate statements about their teams and their conferences while summarily insulting others.

A&M (and the Big Tenelve in general) suffers from a serious case of unwarranted puffy chest and that's the main reason I love the bowl season...

I have spent considerable time in Southern Ohio (Kentucky Basketball), Chattanooga TN (UT Football), Cary NC (UNC Basketball), Michigan (UM Football), all of these places mirror OSU and their fans, some even more rabid, and even though you do not hear FSU refer to themselves as THE, what about Miami being THE U?  These 400lb gorrillia's exist in every region.  How would you like to be a Nebraska of Omaha fan living in Omaha?  All you hear about is Big Red.  The problems that exist exist because of many schools out there, and we sound more credible when we focus on the whole rather than the big bully on our block.  Especially when many of the fans we try and hit are also fans of the team in Cowtown.

I know what you're sayin JC...I lived in the Triad for 2 years as well so I know what NC is like but honestly my experiences there paled in comparison to the things I've seen / heard / been subjected to here (and no that's not a result of my loyalties being with another in State institution).

I agree that arguments against the whole are more credible but to be honest...I just love hating A&M too much to give it up...

As bad as UNC basketball fans are with their arrogance and sense of royalty, they are not even on the same playing field as OSU fans.  And that is coming from someone who has not just spent considerable time, but lived in both areas.   Additionally, I was raised in PSU country.  And while they can be a feisty group, they lack the self-righteousness of Ohio State University – Columbus.  Finally, who gives a rip if someone rags OSU on this board?  If someone wants to take a jab at OSU, have at it.  It is not an OSU board and does need an OSU cop crying foul.  If someone wants to rag Miami, have at it.  I don’t recall anyone getting their panties in a wad over the Miami Still Sucks threads.   Does a 400lb gorilla exist in every region?  Yes, but guess what, OSU-Columbus is in our region, so they will be the one called out...often...if not always.

p.s., Kentucky basketball fans may actually be worse!!!

And something else that beats osucks – any team in January.

You do realize OSU is 5-3 in BCS games right?

Love is right though.  While Arkansas/OSU is much more enticing than OU/Troy, when events transpire like the Georgetown game, there is nothing else like it.

Always the Ohio State apologist... That same stat can be turned around to say that The Overrated State University is 1-3 in their last 4 BCS games...

OHIO has NEVER won a Bowl game and you are calling out OSU's Bowl record????? Wow that takes balls!

No it doesn't...Ohio's bowl record should have no bearing on whether or not someone has the right to comment on the college football landscape.  Everone piles on UConn getting an automatic BCS bid (which I agree is an absolute joke) but it's OK that Ohio A&M slides into the Sugar Bowl for no reason other than the fact that they have thousands of lemmings willing to make the trip and wear nuts around their necks on national TV.

I'm actually glad Michigan State and Bosie got hosed...Arkansas is going to expose A&M and they'll do it with a former Michigan QB at the helm making it that much tougher to swallow.

Im sure it has nothing to do with their 11-1 record

Let OSU do their own thing, when we do our own thing. We arent rivals with OSU, do not play in the same conference, and rarely even play them.

Wanny's constant defense of o$u would have more legitimacy if he took a more holistic approach. No?

Thanks for the spelling lesson,,,,,and I have that broad approach, I have said many times my problem is with the system, not a single school who plays the system to their advantage, because if we were in the catbird seat we would play the system to our benefit as well.
