Nice article even though OSU gets a dig in at the end.

Don't read it JC....don't want the Wolffes to get any richer:

This is why you want success in athletics. Publicity for the school and students getting an experience they may not get otherwise. They will remember this trip for the rest of their life. We win and it will be a 1st for these students, athletes and alumni. Glad I am biting it and taking my whole crew!

And because I can't stand the clowns in Columbus:
“There’s nothing that beats an Ohio State game.”
Uh, yes there is if you are a true Bobcat. It’s an Ohio University game beotch!
And something else that beats osucks – any team in January.

Greenbaum from Crapchester clearly wasn't in Providence when we worked over the Hoyas last March.

Love is right though.  While Arkansas/OSU is much more enticing than OU/Troy, when events transpire like the Georgetown game, there is nothing else like it.

great article, just don't understand why that last sentence needed to be included.

Other than that, very nice read.

That last line, aand the one precceeding it (You get what you pay for ) are brilliant because they remind the reader what a bunch of pompous asshats A&M fans really are. The contrast is striking- one school, even though financially challenged, is doing what's right for its students, while the other school flush with cash, chooses to bend its students over and bleed them dry rather than do something nice for them. Merry Christmas, Suckeye fans.

Yeah, I was think about that. So they pay close to $900 for a bus ride, bowl ticket and two nights in the hotel. It says student tickets are under $100. I'm sure the hotel prices for that game are increased and the price includes two nights, but still, isn't OSU basically charging them $500 just to ride the bus? That sounds crazy.

My asshat is offended by your comment perimeterpost.

There is no comparison between the Ohio trip to New Orleans and the other school's trip.

Ohio is cultivating a future culture. The other school's athletic exploits exist solely for profit.

I am impressed with our students on this one. We have a fraction of the luckeye "sidewalk alumni" and we will represent.
And no, I had no idea the suckeyes were 5=3 in BCS games because I do not care. With the money and press they have in this state, they should be in the Top 5 every year and not choke as many times as they have in the past.

You will not get any sympathy from me on a school I dislike and still enjoy the memories of beating their asphalt on the diamond.

Let's leave this one alone.

As much as I give the students credit for signing up, I am not so deluded not to realize that most are going because of the destination and not the game.  But still it should be a great way to show how much athletics cares about students and wants to build goodwill.

However I can't wait to see all the articles from The Post about how much money this game is costing the university.

I think the price tag and number of students signed up is great!

One question, we couldn't find any more "available" buses assuming there was more student demand?  I know you need to learn to walk before you run but it's too bad they can't find buses IF more students are ready to go.

I personally know of 2-3 more people who'd have gone, so there would've been at least some additional demand (assuming of course that those wouldn't be the only ones).

saying there are no more busses might also be a more polite way of saying "we can't afford to do any more of these."

this is the blessing in disguise from losing to Kent State, we couldnt do this offer for Boise... and we couldn't pay the students to go to Detroit.

My counter to this: That's supposed to be the attractiveness of bowl games; they are played in places people want to go.  I mean, this is marketing at its finest.  Carrot and stick, right?  Bring them in with the promise of a great time in a fun city, and hopefully it's a good game that keeps them interested.

hmmmmm  Doc, how's that crow taste for breakfast?  Of course by Tuesday you will find something else to whine about regarding Columbus coverage of a school 70 miles away with a readership of about 1% of their circulation.

Harold HIll couldn't drum up support for a bus trip to Boise.

Although the advertising spin that would be needed for it would be worth it.

"Visit beautiful US Bank Plaza! Explore the geological madness that is the Boise Bench! See the Boise Philharmonic! Freeze in sub-freezing temperatures while your retinas explode from the power of the blue turf!"

Now that is some funny s--t BS! I will say it again - we have the best MAC Bowl.

Mobile - very cool town and my 2nd choice. However, I still have memories of the stadium looking like a big high school joint.

Detroit - while I hope Detroit finds some way to rebound, 3rd on my list. Right around the stadium is sweet. I really like Ford Field too. Still going to be cold and not much to do otherwise.

Boise - no thanks. See Brian's comments. I can't even add anymore comedy to that hit. Solid.

I am pumped!

Always the Ohio State apologist... That same stat can be turned around to say that The Overrated State University is 1-3 in their last 4 BCS games...

No it doesn't...Ohio's bowl record should have no bearing on whether or not someone has the right to comment on the college football landscape.  Everone piles on UConn getting an automatic BCS bid (which I agree is an absolute joke) but it's OK that Ohio A&M slides into the Sugar Bowl for no reason other than the fact that they have thousands of lemmings willing to make the trip and wear nuts around their necks on national TV.

I'm actually glad Michigan State and Bosie got hosed...Arkansas is going to expose A&M and they'll do it with a former Michigan QB at the helm making it that much tougher to swallow.

If an OHIO fan want's to make fun of another schools bowl record, when we haven't won any (ever), yeah that is silly, and I have just as much right to say so.  And the fact that some of you pay more attention to OSU and spend more energy posting on them simply shows how childish some are.
