Although I think it sucks that Temple didn't get a bid, I guess that IDIOT from Temple won't be needing his suntan lotion this year!

I know I have been as hard on Temple as anybody because they lost to the three MAC teams that are bowling and Toledo came in second in the West.  I can't wee how they would think the MAC pecking order should have been any different.

I do feel bad for them in that the really took care of business early and outside of the MAC with wins over Army, UCONN and Nova as well as a good showing at Penn St.

This just shows how bad the MAC is viewed that an eligible 8-4 Bowl team did not go.  Instead, teams like a 6-6 Washington and others probably not as worthy are in.

Oh well...that's life in the MAC!

i'd like to have some empathy for them but they are completely losing their sh!t about how its all a MAC conspiracy and how they'd be better off going indy like BYU. The blind spot some of their fans have is so HUGE its quite entertaining.

MH55- I know we like to give you hard time and all but with it being the holidays and all, Id like to say, in all seriousness... go pound sand you fruit loop. GO OHIO!

They never sniffed Vegas.  Did not 'turn down an invite.

From Philly Inquirer:

A source very familiar with the situation said that it appeared Temple was headed to the Little Caesars Pizza Bowl in Detroit on Dec. 26, to play fellow MAC member Toledo (the two had not met this season). But Middle Tennessee State scored a touchdown midway through the fourth quarter to win by a point at Florida International and get to 6-6. That gave the Sun Belt three eligible teams, and allowed that conference to fulfill its back-up commitment to the Little Caesars. So FIU wound up in Motown against the Rockets (8-4) instead.

Good luck against that Sun Belt team.. I can't remember their name.. Is it Troy?...
The best I can do is be glad for a win over Maryland tonight and the fact that we'll get better positive press over being snubbed than we would have after losing money on a bowl.
Hope you guys win your first bowl!

hahahahahaha..... Temple football doesn't hold a candle to Troy's history and fan-base...  thanks for playing though...

Also... enjoy spinning the press of being the 5th best MAC team into something positive....

Temple Athletic Director as misinformed as his fan's are...
From the Temple Site...

How tough was it when you had to give the news to Al Golden, and how did you feel for him and the players?

"Heartbreaking. Heartbreaking. As I said, the most difficult part of this is the disappointment that I have for our student athletes and our coaches. Everything else pales in comparison to the disappointment for our student athletes who won eight games, played seven teams who were in bowls, took Penn State at their place down to the last three minutes and scored the first touchdown, beat Connecticut, the only BCS win in the MAC."

MAC BCS wins this year
Toledo over Purdue
Northern Illinois over Minnesota
Temple over UConn

He very well may have meant the MAC's only win over a BCS school, meaning BCS participant as UConn is and Temple did beat them.  In fact that is the MAC's only win ever over a BCS game opponent in a year in which they went to a BCS Bowl.

To be fair, he could have meant that it was the only win vs a team in a BCS bowl.

I realized that, just wanted to bust their arrogant chops some more...

And their win is over the 8-4 co-champion of the 8th best rated conference this year....

Temple didn't get a bid because they lost two games at the end of the season when everything was on the line. End of discussion.

Well. everyone knows that the bowl system is a sham. Thank goodness that TCU is playing in a nice bowl. Boise State gets the shaft again. Temple vs CMU in the Motor City Bowl? Yuk.  While I'm happy we are playing in a bowl, the 60k empty seats on TV won't look so impressive.

And Miami. If Temple would have won either of those games, they would be in a Bowl game. It's as simple as that.

Ding ding ding ding.....winner winner chicken dinner.

That was about as suckiest a performance that I've seen by any team.
