So, I assume, unless BTC says differently, that that's what will happen this year.

This year MAC bowl payouts are, according to the CFP website:

Bahamas -- $225,000
Idaho -- $800,000
Boca Raton -- $900,000
Quick Lane -- $2,000,000
Camellia -- 308,000
Arizona -- 350,000

Total = $4,583,000

If split evenly among the six MAC bowl participants that would be $763,833 per school.
Good figures.

The Barstool Bowl is definitely a unique situation in terms of value for the program. Barstool promotes itself and will likely make this bowl into a big show with lots of content online. There will be a lot of eyeballs on this that would not otherwise have been on the game. As others have said, I expect the broadcast to be... "Different"

I'm optimistic about our odds today :-D

Just saw that. What a bunch of BS. Basically forcing you to download their app unless you live in the regular coverage area for Ohio Athletics.

Someone in the know (probably BTC), is there some kind of grant of rights when it comes to bowl games like this? Why would Learfield/OU give that ability away?

Yep, Bowls are independent entities, and when you sign the contract to attend you agree to their stipulations. If you did not know, the NCAA does not even control the Bowl games once they are sanctioned. They operate how they want, just like the CFP.

I appreciate all of the knowledge fellas. I knew that there was a share of (payouts) of bowl teams within the MAC. I just assumed most lower payout games, pretty much just pay for the team; room and board, food , player experience, etc. I question how much actual revenue actually goes to the athletic department. I'm ok with breaking even and the players having a great experience.

Isn't the NCAA Tournament the same when it comes to radio feeds?

So who wants to clarify whether you can actually watch this game on the app? Far as i can tell you can only use barstool.tv through your browser. App doesn't seem to have access to live programming

And I completely realize that there is a place for Barstool in the world and that it is successful. I also realize I sound like I want them off my lawn. Just annoyed as an overall opinion. Our awful start isn't helping my mood.
