Some years ago I predicted a cycle of power that would have Ohio peaking in 2011-2012, and that, with a favorable schedule in 2011, Ohio would be undefeated. DL will reload, not rebuild. Offensive line returns in its entirety. Receivers, LB, DBs are all solid. RB is not something that concerns me at all. Therefore, the only question mark to me is QB. Because of the strength of the team around him, I'm not looking for a QB to carry the team on his back, but rather someone that can put in a solid, AE-like performance. If someone can emerge at QB that can be a leader, and that can put in a solid, reliable, relatively mistake-free year, and if the players all work hard in the off-season, I have no reason to change that prediction. Therefore, I continue to expect an undefeated regular season in 2011. BTW, I don't care what Miami or Temple has coming back - this will be a year for Ohio to win, not a year for the other teams to lose.

Remember - Now is the time of year when the success of next season will be determined. If the players are working hard in the off season, it will be a great year. If they are partying and getting in bar fights, not so much. Let's wait and see how it pans out, but I have great hopes.

With a new Beauling Ball (Beau Blankenship, 5-8, 207), added to the RBs, I agree we should be fine there as long as they have holes to run through, and they should. The improved RBs will make life better for the QBs, but I am still concerned about that position. We don't have a proven thrower for a balanced attack. We can hope one will emerge.

The loses from the defensive line and secondary are a concern.  QB and running back also a concern.

Cutting off oubobcatjon there on purpose.  I like all the optimism, trust me.  But....  Lots of holes....  I guess every team has them.  But questions at QB and RB and the whole starting D line graduating leaves some big things to reload.

There is talent back on the D line back though. Carl Jone's point in space interception during the Temple game was one my best memories from last season. VanDelay has the Ohio RB recruit Hammonds as one of the very best in the MAC then there is Blankenship. Could Bates play more RB next year, that is also a possibility. Four out of the last 5 Bobcat seasons have been .500 or better and the 4-8 season was due to a very unbalanced MAC and non-conference schedule that season. There is no reason to think 2011 will be terrible.

Returning on the DL are Curtis Meyer, Sr., Neal Huynh, Jr., Carl Jones, Jr., Tremayne Scott, Jr. and new will be Kozak, Tarrent, Spivey and Crutcher. Coach G will make a representative DL from this group. Next year they should be older when the LBs will be younger.
