Glad to see you two kinda-sorta making up. Now, both of you should read the CFN review on the 2011 Bobcats, and that should get your focus back on something you can agree on - the possibility of a Bobcat MAC Championship and bowl win in 2011.

It's all a show. In private, I send him interesting historical links.

I agree with JSF here. Some of the OSU bashing goes beyond reason. I think that's all he's saying.

That and I don't think people should be against their schools. I harp on OCF because it's fun.

Of course, the LeBron hating is a lot more annoying.

It would be beyond reason if the fan base attitude wasn't beyond reason itself.  There are basic laws of action / consequence at play here.  When you spend as much time as they have looking down your nose and casting aspersions at other programs that are cited because you "run a clean program", you set yourself up for these kinds of responses.  Everyone has known since Clarett that O$U was getting a pass due to Tressel's bogus image but it didn't stop them from partying in the streets when USC and Michigan were cited and they were beside themselves with anger when Auburn was allowed to play Cam.

As others have said, this isn't just a couple of minor infractions.  This is about even the President of the University laying down for the dollar..."a culture of corruption" as Bert said.  Every time an accusation is made, the apologists scream that it's unfounded, then once it's proved out they disappear.  The A&M fan base loves to claim that these radical, vocal fans are a minority population but that's simply not true.  You don't have to pay for billboard space to beg the minority population to behave themselves.  Why do you think Holbrook "resigned"?

The majority of them are well beyond arrogant and it's an attitude that's fed to them daily by the institution.  Even today, anyone that can get in front of a microphone will say that the program and University are "about more than what's happened here".  Really?  When exactly has it shown that?  I'd say it's been at least 21 years.

As far as LeBron, he brought all that on himself too.  When you make a living (and an extravagant one at that) from folks paying to watch you play a game, there are inherent responsibilities that come in the package.  You can't hold a nationally televised event to prop yourself up and rub an entire city's face in the dirt, then stage a glam show like they did complete with promises of more than 6 Championships, then top it off by insulting all of those fan's stations in life and not expect to get some heat back.

There are consequences to actions.  It's the most basic lesson parents teach their children, it's one of the pillars of society and the entitled sometimes learn this the hard way.

You know the naming / branding issues are just the tip of the O$U arrogance iceberg.

Of course. That's not really what I'm talking about, though. In MAC circles, we're accused of being the most arrogant fanbase. It's all perspective.

I'd like to know how anyone could come by that sentiment considering Marshall's past and Temple's present MAC address...

This is my point. You can't design their punishment based on your own degree of annoyance with them.

That's great. It's still annoying. It was too much and made what was an intensely competitive Finals less enjoyable for a lot of us.
