You say he doesn't get fired, I say the NCAA threatens the death penalty unless they fire the rogue coach
I believe he will be dismissed, however you have no clue of the by-laws regarding the death penalty.
I'd be shocked if he's ever fired. If he is, the whole house comes down. He's the fall guy and they'll stand next to him regardless of how transparent it is and how bad it looks for the University becuase they have too much riding on it now. What no one seems to want to write about is why he would have felt he needed to cover this up to begin with rather than just suspend the players for a meaningless non conference game due to an unspecified "violation of team rules" and have it behind them.
The reason is that Tressel and indeed the entire Administration at this point, is scared of upsetting Pryor and him running his mouth. It's the same reason he's been allowed to act the way he has since he started even though Herbstreit has pointed out how embarassing it is on a number of occassions.
When Rodriguez was hired at Michigan and Pryor's recruiting at A&M actually came into question, you can be sure that recruiting rules were broken to ensure he wasn't lured into that high powered offense. Now he rules the roost because they don't want another Clarett on their hands.
If Tressel's gone it means there are much more significant things happening at higher levels...
