I know nothing about Howard, but they have to be able to keep it within 30 against EMU.

And is Pitt that much better than Buffalo?  Both of those spreads seem high.

Which will receive the biggest whooping, Cant or aKron?  Glad Ohio is facing neither of these conference opponents for OUr first game.

How about Western or Fiami?

That Pitt-kron spread seems high. Pitt isn't that good, so the question is, is 'kron that bad?

Temple at home favored by only 5.5 vs. an FCS school?  I would take Temple there as much as it pains me.  I know it was close last season, but as a result 'Nova has lost any element of surprise they may have had.

Luckily, I am flying to Las Vegas Friday morning so I'll get real action on these games.  I will promptly place large bets on Ohio and Indiana.  I also like WVU to cover vs. Marshall.  I'll bet $100 on each, except for the $110 on Ohio.  It just seems like a better number to me.

Dude. Check up on IU. They're a mess. Ball isn't good, and I L-O-V-E Kevin Wilson longterm, but IU is a wholesale mess.

Since when are lines made for games involving FCS opponents? Is that new this year? Always remember there being "no line" on those games.

Cat,
The play this week is Ohio St -33.5. Akron will be 2005 Templesque and that was worse than waterboarding.

I think Buf is going to be THAT bad too.  Pitt hasnt layed 30 since the Dorsett days and the number speaks volumes about the Bulls

I had the same thought. Then my Buffalo source told me that yes, they are that bad.

I had hoped to take in the eastern game Saturday night after watching the michigan game. Unfortunately the western-michigan  game starts at 330. 30 points seems like a lot for eastern even if they were playing kenyon or hiram so I will take Howard and the points. Don't know much about Ball State this year but the Inidana game could be a good one. Temple has a tough test, wouldn't be surprised if they get beat. Western only 14 point dogs? I think michigan should have little trouble covering that one(I'm biased, Hoke went to the same high school I did). Ohio should cover easily, nms is possibly the worst program in d1.

Could be trouble for the Owls until they get their blocking assignments straight.

Line has moved up to 6.5. I think "]["emple will cover but I wouldn't receommend it to fellow MAC Gambling degens. There's easier $$$ to be made this week. Its a grudge match between two Uni's that have disliked each other for generations and the players do get caught up in it.

Either way, as you can see, we'll be alright.

Woke up this morning and world was turned right side up. I'm moving "]["emple into a Strong Play category. Its a statement game and we will be making it on behalf ot the MAC for the Big East.

I dont know why anyone would be rooting for a FCS team v the MAC. I wont be rethinking my position on Rotgers/Ohio. I will hope you beat the Jersey landfill out of them.

GASP!!! I agree. I absolutely can't figure how anyone, regardless of how they feel about MH55 personally, could root for a projected MAC East contender to lose to an FCS school. No one benefits from that. I want Temple to beat Nova, and at least scare Penn State. This could be a very solid year for the MAC and we can't have slipups against lower divisions.

Gotta agree with this, I want every MAC team (even the rouge hens) to win every game in non-conference play (not that i'm expecting a sweep this weekend, though I certainly think our fair conference will fare no worse than 6-7 this weekend, with as strong as a 9-4 showing possible...though that would take upsets (according to the Vegas line's) over Indiana, Michigan, and Idaho). In other words, I guess I'm predicting/hoping for something like a 7-6 or even 8-5 record after this weekend.

The way I look at it, I want the best MAC teams to lose OOC so we have a better chance of getting a bowl invite and to keep them from getting too cocky.  No kidding, I really do.  But I can underdstand the logic of wanting every MAC team to win every OOC game for the standing of the conference.
