I doubt it since they have some nice venues to choose from for a road trip and normally bands only make one road trip per season.

At the Little Caesars bowl Marshall's band seemed like a JV outfit compared to the 110. The band had music stands on their instruments, which is sort of amateur even in High School, let alone Division 1 athletics

You would be surprised by the amount of D1 bands that use music infront of them.  Really only the top bands in the country, like the 110, don't have music infront of them.

I would say easily 3/4 of college bands out there use music on the field. Easily.

Too bad.  They always provided great comic relief.

I hope not. They'd damage the field. After seeing them in Detroit,  I no longer wondered why they called themselves "Thundering."

Our band always goes retro... always kind of lame . I think the cut off year for songs that can be performed is somewhere around 1978. Anything past that year is considered to new.

I've tried to stay out of this week's back-and-forth between Ohio and Marshall fans. But I just couldn't help myself . . .

"to new"? huh?

Don't you mean "two new"?

Or maybe "too knew"?

A mind is a terrible thing to waste.

Sorry professor. Too new. I guess when the only thing you have to hang your hat on is your schools band and catching minor errors in posts you have to do what you have to do to act like a tough guy.  I guess the part where I was making fun of my schools band went right over your head when I made my little typo. Like you said professor, just stay out of it. Move along.

Funny how you all knock the Marching Thunder so much...

They're performing at the Seahawks/Steelers game this Sunday.

Word on the street is they're doing something with REO Speedwagon, who will also be there.

So they ARE going to be in Athens Saturday?  If so, that's good.  Looking forward to hearing them.

My apologies, I didn't answer your original question.

They won't be there Saturday since they're going to Pittsburgh.

Thank goodness...Those uniforms are seriously painful to behold.  Besides...Considering the fact that it's looking like a possible sell out, there wouldn't be room for those helmets in the stadium...

So? A number of terrible bands have played at NFL games. Kent's band has played at NFL games, and they're a disgrace to marching bands.

Dude, it's just about respect. Watch:

As a WR, Randy Moss was possibly the greatest college WR ever, and better than any WR Ohio ever had.
I respect.

As a pro-style QB, Chad Pennington was possibly the best MAC QB ever, and better than any QB Ohio ever had.
I respect.

As a marching band, the Marching 110 is probably better than any other band in the universe ever, including the Marching Thunder.
You respect?

Total domination =

Winning a bowl game 21 - 17 over a Bobcat squad whose primary skill players were playing at 50%

Winning 24 - 23 (on an illegal pick no call) at home

You da man

To clear anything up, Marshall was supposed to bring their band, but funding was tight and they had to back out of the trip.  110 will be going hard in the paint.
