You are calling the students out for their attendance, but did not attend the game yourself?  Where the heck were you?  What a clown.

Actually, I was at yoga for the first half. Not a joke.

That is a joke!  You cannot have any credibility calling students out for not attending the game in bonechilling rain, when you were off doing yoga during the first half.

LOL! Good point.

But of course, lacking credibility has never stopped me before!

Evidently the cameras did not show enough of the entire stadium seating to get the full picture. Attendance was rather small regardless of the demogarphic. I do not think there were more than 100 KSU fans in the traditional visitors corner spot. It was the first miserable day of fall in Athens. It was pretty chilly and had drizzled non-stop all night and all day until just before half time. It was a much better day to sit in a bar uptown and watch football on TV. Even my wife and I considered staying in BWWs and getting soaked there rather than getting really soaked at the game. Smallest crowd I have seen for a few years on the press box side. Perhaps PG did not realize that the ESPN3 feed on a small computer screen makes everything appear smaller, even the score.

You guys suck.

Well, not all of you. The 10 of you that were at the game are cool.

The first half the student side was full but the press box side looked bare. After the half about as many people left the press box side as the student side. Just a personal observation from one who was there.

I was there, too.  My observations: The student side was never full -- maybe I could stretch it and say 2/3 full.   The geezer side was about the same, but far fewer left after half on the geezer side.

Not attending a football game because it's being played in football weather = lame.

Being an OHIO and not attending an OHIO game in what's shaping up to be OUr best year in ages and against the kents which we still owe a lot of payback = double lame.

America U.S.A. just aint nearly as tough as it used to be.  WWII generation must be ashamed of subsequents.

I have to agree with the original post, the overall crowd atmosphere was as lifeless as I've ever seen Peden Stadium. It was even worse than the Akron game in 08 which had maybe 3K fans total. I actually felt guilty trying to implore the people around me to get loud on 3rd down. On the student side no less. I don't want to hear anything about the weather. That was classic football weather. And if you left in the middle of the game because of the weather, you must really love the 110 because the weather was at its worst towards the beginning of the day. If you left and you were with your parents, I hope they're okay with throwing away 30 bucks.

At least when Miami fans leave at halftime, it's because they're losing.

I don't understand why people refuse to accept that sports are entertainment and many people don't find rainy, 40 degree weather fun.

Speaking of entertainment, my wife and I went to see Moneyball yesterday.  She's not a huge sports fan but found this movie very good.  I'd recommend it to everyone.  I'm actually going to use some of the messages from the movie in a training session tomorrow.

Didn't you learn to stop posting drunk after the Buffalo incident of 2001?

That's a good point Monroe.  To everyone else....I wouldn't be so bent out of shape about this.  Like it's already been stated several times, the weather SUCKED, the opponent (although was a close game) SUCKED, and the OSU game that was on SUCKED but still took away from our crowd. We have a good team...people know that--whether students, alumni, faculty, etc. Things will be just fine. We have 2 conference games, both on ESPN this year and both on weeknights...not saturdays when there are a million other options in town and on campus.  ...I hope no one freaks out about the lack of following we send to the Buffalo game!!

And attendance does not equate interest. I'm sure we all have friends that really do care but only attend the occasional game. Not everyone thinks it's important to be in person.

I have no idea what you're talking about.  That was among the best OSU games I've seen in years!

??????????????   Attendance does not equal interest.  It might, in a very material sense.

As in, forget ever moving up to a better conference or going to a high-powered bowl.  You can't help us fill our 70,000 seats if you're only going to bring 3500 people.

At some point, genuine O-H-I-O interest has to be shown.  What are we--temples?

OSU had only 12 first downs, a whopping 178 TOTAL yards, and 9 penalties. Wtf game were you watching? ...Are you a fan of the WNBA too?
