OU didn't know wrote:expand_more
LOVE that conference suggestion with the exception of WVU...I can't see a scenerio where they don't end up in one of the "Big 4"...They're just too solid in regards to finances, following and facilities not to make that cut...Maybe replace them with Toledo?  Same colors...No one would know the difference right?

There you go...could set up West/East divisions of:

West:
Cincinnati
Louisville
Memphis
Miami
Toledo

East:
Rutgers
Temple
Ohio
Marshall
U Mass

West would be a much stronger division in basketball, but with only 10 teams, you might not have to even worry about divisions for basketball.

small tweak (UConn instead of Toledo)-

West:
Cincinnati
Louisville
Memphis
Miami
Ohio

East:
Rutgers
Temple
UConn
Marshall
U Mass

each division has 3 red teams, 1 blue team, and 1 green team. bonus points for color symmetry.

I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe you have to have 12 teams to be allowed to divide a conference into divisions and have a championship game at the end of the regular season.  OK, JSF, your turn.

I knew it.  Oh well...I guess I really don't need that extra cash.

How long has temples been allowed to be in the MAC and how many MAC teams with winning records have they beaten in that time?

Do you think Beckman already has all his belongings boxed up ready for his move up to a BCS school, or with the money he'll be making will he simply be able to hire somebody to do it for him?

I don't know what it says more: how good of a coach he is or how awful Tom Turkey was. No reason Toledo shouldn't be dominating the conference year in and year out given its advantages in fan support, stadium and proximity to recruiting bases in both Ohio and Detroit.

Temple is a fraud. Has been since it came into the conference. It treats its out of conference games as the important ones and seemingly doesn't properly prepare for MAC match-ups.

Funny thing is, they don't seem to realize that that sort of thing doesn't impress the Big East or the ACC...conferences they seemingly are wooing.

Marshall at least won the MAC before it gained its superiority complex.

Nail on the head, Brian.  They recruit kids not for the purpose of winning the MAC but with the promise of a move to an AQ conference.  So they get fired up against PSU (which is only a mediocre at best Big Tedozen team this year) and MD then look to take the next 8 weeks off.  They can still handle the MAC's dregs but when they play a Toledo or a Fiami or an NIU or an OU, they fail to recognize them as an equivalent to a lower-rung AQ conference team.

what a great weekend, ohio won, ohio state lost and temple was drilled. Top that off with one of the great races of the last ten years at kentucky today and what a weekend. Now if temple can just keep doing that thing they do so well even if is  ball state, next week could be even a better weekend . Oh yeah dallas was beaten also, it can't get better then this.

Toledo +8 was a gift from Vegas to anyone who has watched Toledo or Temple play all year.  Jumped on that as soon as I saw it.

Right now, OU should be at minimum a 7 point favorite against Temple.

However, I would hope someone else in the West emerges because Toledo is the last team I would want to see in Detroit.

Attention World...
In case you didn't know.. just stack the box against Pierce.
Our QB uses the same mechanics to throw a 10 yard out as he does a 50 yard bomb.

This was painful... but can't take a thing against Toledo.. better than advertised.

Toledo is 10 points better than anybody else in the conference, in my opinion.

Latest News Flash-Ohio and Miami will NEVER (again) be in a conference with Cincy, Louisville and Memphis.  What do you people smoke anyway?  Those three are way above Ohio and Miami in resources.  And, UC has now won 6 in a row vs. Miami.  As we all know, it ceases to be a rivalry when one team wins all the time.

How many straight wins have we won over the Redhawks?  I still consider that a rivalry.  Comon man!!  I feel that the game with WMU vs Toledo will be very interesting.  Toledo is not +10 better than WMU, Ball State NIU or CMU. Sorry ..  West is tougher than the East, but we will win our share against the West.
