This is a great addition against a solid MWC opponent. Line will be near 0, big one right away.

Non Conf Schedule

8/26 @ SDSU
9/2 vs. LIU
9/9 @ FAU

Buy game or home/home you think?

Now watch the MAC screw this up and have both Ohio and BG sit idle on 9/23 and instead play each other on a November Wednesday.

Who are the Bobbies?
I believe it's a rock band from London. They probably don't know how to play American football. But, I think it's the OHIO Bobcats who will be playing SDSU -- a very solid game. Hope it's a 1-1 contract.

It's official.

SDSU was able to move their Idaho State game to week 1 to make room for us. NMSU owes SDSU $1.5M and the Aztecs will apply (some or all of?) that money to paying us a guarantee. No return game.

Kind of a great deal if we can get close to a mil payout. Super winnable game and an assured national TV spot on top of the money.

I'm stunned OU is getting *any* money for this game.

OU coming off a big season, SDSU coming off a mediocre season.

OU might have votes in the AP Top 25.

In 2018, OU beat the breaks off them 27 - 0

Nice early test for CJ.

My question at this point is if we can get an upgraded TV window out of it on CBS or Fox as a kickoff game.

Otherwise what a schedule. Roadies in Southern California and South Florida. Iowa State at home. Fiami at home this year to also help home numbers.

Perhaps the overall historical record of SDSU against the MAC overall may help to explain your confusion.

Aztecs 14 Wins 1 Draw and 1 Tie.

I was impressed with your dominating win in the Frisco Bowl, but the record would seem to indicate that that one win was an outlier.

Kurtis tore his ACL and MCL 58 days ago, you may have heard.

Uh oh, don't get BTC going. . . not unlike poking a hibernating bear.

Buckle up. This could get interesting.

BTC & MDWST - I just cleared my next 2 weeks so I can keep up with what's about to go down in this heavyweight battle of sarcastic passive aggression.

I won't pretend to know the severity of his injury or his recovery time, but Kurtis suffered his injury on November 15, 2022. Week Zero will be August 26, 2023.

On November 22, 2020, Joe Burrow suffered a tear in his MCL and ACL, along with also damage to the PCL. He returned for Week 1 of the 2021 season, played on September 12, 2021. He led the Bengals to victory over Vikings, 27-24. That put the return to the field as 294 days after the injury. He didn't play in the preseason that year.

For Kurtis, the time between his injury and the game against San Diego State will be 284 days. I realize that each athlete is different, but with Kurtis's pocket passer sense, it seems like his game is somewhat similar (not comparing skill level) to Burrow's. However, the quality of care is likely far inferior.

This might mean that it is more likely that OHIO targets the MAC season as the right approach for Kurtis's return.

Getting money like that is nice. Send the team out a week early to absorb the culture of the Greater San Diego area making it like a bowl game as classes in Athens do not start till the Monday following.

Send the 110 too, letting each group practice the final week out in California. Heck by announcing it you might even get a portal guy that is on the fence.

O.U. sent only 96 out of 240 members of the 110 to the Arizona Bowl.
They flew out on December 28 and back on December 31.

It could be that many band members were on Southwest flights and couldn't make the trip after Southwest scrapped flights.

Game wise, SDSU is going to look to get off to a fast start. Their first four games include three games against teams that won 9+ games last year (Ohio, Oregon State and UCLA).

Though I'm getting static from my wife, I'm going to try to be there. For the benefit of SBH and bobcatsquared, I have some paternal cousins who live in the San Diego area, and I can work in a little bit of a family reunion, if I can pull this off. Then I can make a side trip up to San Luis Obispo to visit my daughter.
