Nice no call by the refs costs the Bobcats a chance to win. Brazill was hit way before the ball, it wasn't even a debatable penalty.

Dream season? Adios.

Special Team? Sayonara.

Packed and Jacked homecoming? maybe next year.

Our "best team in 40 years" might be the 6th best team in the conference.

dirty hits by Buffalo all game, just disgusting. Refs should be fired for that Spear on Dunlop. Also the mugging that Lavon got on the 2nd down pass, homer officials, Buffalo is just a piece of crap, I hope they rot.

No excuses for the loss, but Lavon should have had a call.

So disappointing, D was no where near good enough most of the game and the offense shot themselves in the foot after an awesome kick return.  Now we give Temple the inside track in the East Division.

Refs gave this game away, I hope the MAC reads this site, STOP HATING OHIO! Riley got speared, Lavon got mugged, yet the Horsecollar gets called? A late hit out of bounds on Tyler and no call? Roughing the kicker, and the next punt, you say running into the kicker when it wasn't nearly as bad. Screw the refs, we had those officials should be fired.

Bummer!

D did not play well -- either against pass or run.

Officials made key calls against us that were bad calls.  That was no "horse collar" and there were several no calls on obvious defensive pass interference infractions.  These guys couldn't even figure out the down without calling upstairs.  Pathetic.

Fire them, this was a joke! Reviewing 2 calls in a row, when we had Defensive Mo, they knew what they were doing, they were messing with us, why does the MAC hate OHIO, I used to think it was fiami, then temps, but no it is the mac that hates us.

I'm questioning the lack of a field goal attempt from the 40 yard line.  Without a doubt, Weller has the leg, but yet we decide to punt the ball for 12 yards instead.  You can overcome adversity, but not stupidity on the coaches part.

I know a lot of what's being said is frustration of the moment, but there's no cause for panic.  We've been saying all week that Buffalo's better than their record shows.  We didn't beat ourselves today with turnovers; it was mostly mental mistakes.  At least the offense was clicking.  And remember, it's only the first loss in the MAC; everyone in the East has at least one, so the Cats still control their own destiny (Buffalo is going to get at least one more before the season's out).  Leftwich should be back by the Temps game.  Til then, we have BSU at home (got throttled by Temps at home today) and Akron on the road.  The first won't be an easy win, but the second should be.  6-2 at the end of October wouldn't be bad.

Still...

We need more rush on punts.  I know they were trying to set up a return on the last one (at least I hope so), but you can't let a punter who's as good as theirs get off a high boomer so late in the game.  You wind up with lousy field position with no timeouts.

The D was surprisingly porous, even with all the injuries.  The rush on the QB was practically nonexistent for most of the game, there was a lot of overrunning plays and the tackling was inconsistent.

I'm sure that the coaching staff will figure it out.

This was the same crew that covered the MAC Championship game with Ball State and Buffalo.

Glad I'm not the only one. Very poor calls kept this game out of reach.

How about people stop bitching about the Ref's and look at the lack of execution by this team that should have won by two TD's.  Don't blame Ref's for a team that lost playing down to its opposition.  A game like this lets me know why Frank is coaching at Ohio and nowhere else.  Terrible performance by this team today.  However, it IS the expectation that comes with Ohio football.

For those curious about the post-game radio interview with Solich:

Russ, during the broadcast, had been emphasizing his view that OU would have to "gut this one out" due to injuries. His first question to the coach led in with him saying that the win over Kent State was a "toughness" victory (presumably also due to injuries and maybe also the weather last Saturday). So, Eisenstein tells Solich that OU "out-toughed" the Golden Flashes, puts out the idea that Buffalo out-toughed OU today, and asks Frank if that was indeed the case.

Solich responded curtly and in an exasperated tone of voice that no, he didn't think we were out-toughed by the Beefs. Then he apparently up and left while Russ began to ask the next question.

I sometimes think God hates Ohio. Which, by the way, would be an awesome sign for the Westboro Fun Times and Smiles Church to use at one of their funeral pickets...

We reverted back to our 2007-2008 type ball where we display talent but can't get over the hump and seal the deal. I thought once the Cats got up 31-24 the screws tightened shut but that unexpected TD run by Buffalo that should have never happened unscrewed the seal.

9704, your expectations of this team are not realistic.  If all starters are healthy Buffalo scores 21 tops.  They are not healthy,.  Your comment about coach Solich is bush league.  He and his staff are in this with a really good group of players.  This is when they find out if there are any fans in it with them.  Today this team gave me all I deserve as a fan, great effort and a good game.  I have no doubt all involved gave their best.

The poster was saying that Ohio should expect to be a terrible team. Does the poster know that Ohio has won 65% of its MAC games since 2006 and 2 division titles? The realistic expectation is that Ohio is going to play an exciting brand of football and compete against the top teams in the MAC. Frank is meeting that expectation ans we should be grateful that he's here to lead the program.

9704 said OU hould have won by two TD, that, was his unrealistic expectation.  Not about to happen on this night with the team's injuries at Buffalo.

Well, gee, Frank, who chose to punt the ball on 4th and 2 at the Buffalo 37.5 yard line?  That was a cowardly call.

Agreed.

A similar thing happened in the O$U/Nebraska game, O$U and OU were well within field goal range and the coaches opt to punt.  Both decisions shifted momentum to other team and both result in long TD drives.  The obvious choice if in that situation, KICK THE FG!

Coach Solich cowardly, thats a good one.  Now I am sure you meant for him to know how you feel. I doubt he will see it here.  I suggest you visit his office and tell him face to face.  Let us know how that works out.

So you agree with the decision to punt?  And he gets up and walks out of the radio interview because he doesn't like the question?

Solich insisted they weren't out-toughed on the field.  I just gave you en example of a call that clearly indicates a lack of toughness on the sideline - and just might have cost us the game.
