Finally caught up with him?  He threw a pick on the first drive of the season at NMSU by forcing a throw.  He's done the same in six games this year.

Both INT's today were tipped balls. Neither a bad pass. DId you merely look at the game stats or were you actually at the game?

I was at the game.  The balls were not "tipped" at the line - they were "tipped" by corners who were closer to the ball than Tettleton's apparent targets.  One ball was "tipped" by the back of the corner's helmet.  "Tipped"...that's rich. Double coverage on both throws.  On the second one, he had 15 yards of running room in front of him and he forced a stupid, stupid pass.  Yeah, I was at the game - have been at every game except Rutgers.

Please tell me how I'm wrong on your claim that the ball was "tipped."  You are implying that it was tipped at the line, which clears #4 of responsibility, when in fact both were badly thrown and were batted and intercepted by their defensive secondary.  Or did you miss that chapter in football 101?

Receivers were covered both times.  He looked like a first year starter today. Dumb pass at the end of the first half. Clock was less than 30 seconds and you either are going deep and running out the clock. Tettleton threw it where is could be picked and it was. Cost us the game with those three points. The coach should have not put him in that position to pull a Tony Romo.  Romo=throwing a bad pick and handing the other team easy points before the half or late in the fourth quarter.

Tipped does NOT imply tipped at the line.  Did you actually ever play football? Ever seen a throw hit the receivers hands and then tipped by the defense and ultimately intercepted?  It happens. As it did today.  Go look at the tape.

The second pass hit the back of their corner's helmet - that was the first contact anyone made with the ball.

I guess since you threw less interceptions than TT and ran for more yards than BB during your varsity career for the Bobcats, you are certainly an expert to call out these players week after week.

He's a scholarship player, Chip, and he's made some horrendous decisions in key situations this year.  He has also looked very good in some situations.  He lost the game today - there's no question about that.  He's an adult, a public figure and everybody knows his name.  How about you come to a game before knighting him as the best QB since Ol' Freak Nasty?

I stated that BB was a big disappointment based on all the superlatives we were fed over the summer. I guess the coaches have agreed with me given the number of carries he has earned since his back-back games with fumbles. He did had a chance to catch a pass today but #4 threw the ball into the ground instead.

No I did not see the game as I went to my wife's homecoming game at UVA with our daugther and her friend and hung out on the field for a while after the game.  I never said TT was the best QB ever, but your negativity gets old. Last home game you were upset with some old folks in the guest suite.  This week you start a thread upset about the Tim Albin's son wearing a black jersey.  How do you know that coach Albin did not purchase the jersey for his son?  Maybe he was only wearing it during the game and is not keeping the jersey.  Who other than you really cares?

I retract my complaint about the jersey.  Not about the team's play.  It's not easy to be anything but negative about this team's play in three of the last four weeks.  But seeing as you're a UVA season ticket holder, I know you're not that interested.

This was our first game in two years at UVA.  My wife gave up her tickets after 20 years after we were relocated since we chose not to donate an extra $5,000 a year instead of the $500 we had donated annually.

I have cut back on my travel to Athens and other locations because our daughter is 14 and we enjoy going to her athletic events.  It is an eight to nine hour drive each way to Athens.  I am glad I chose to attend her field hockey game yesterday and was able to spend a nice day with my family.

He is a redshirt sophomore and has had flashes of brilliance.  He's  still learning but at least we have a solid starting quarterback for the next 2 years, which we havent been able to say for a while.  Speak up if you could've done better job at 20 years old in your first year as a starter in a hurry up offense.

The video demonstrates #4 making several poor decisions and throws that led to the interceptions. Jerry, you need to get over yourself. You don't have to have played or coached football to have a decent football IQ. Simply watch the video and you'll see that most of TT's throws were into double coverage and the int's were indeed his fault. That said, I do think that he will improve and does have a solid future in front of him. I am a big fan of #4, but he needs to start making better reads. The pick at the end of the 1st half was brutal and really hurt OUr team.
Also, there seemed to be a lack of emotion from the sidelines and some of OUr players appeared to be in "zombie mode". This was clearly a case of OHIO thinking we could just "show-up" and win.

The first pick was undoubtedly a bad decision. I think the second interception wasn't a terrible decision. Yes, there were two defenders out there, but the receiver had a step or two on both of them. If the ball was put out there another yard, it would have been a big completion. With that said, it's still a risk, especially when throwing on the run like he was.

SBH does a good job of attending the games.  So credit to him for that.

But his posts and his opinions are incorrect.

We lost yesterday on the o-line, d-line and 'backers.  Our o-line isn't making much holes for the running game and the pass protection needs to be better at key moments.  D-line lost all of last year's starters, then our best player starting tackle and our other starting tackle, and our linebackers are injured and/or not stars.

Didja see our lack of pass rush, the great success Ballie had on third downs, and our qb under pressure?  Beside a couple of big plays, our offense did little--which combined with our bending defense to put us in consistently deep field position.  Yesterday was not about the qb or the jersey of a coach's child.

How do you manage to attend yet miss the obvious?  And not see the vital/important factors.

I agree with Monroe.  This thread makes is sound like yesterday was all Tettleton's fault.  Fact is, there's plenty of fault for everyone.  The O line was porous and the D wasn't very aggressive (2nd game in a row without a takeaway).  To single out Tettleton is unfair.

As for the picks, I don't think either resulted from a bad decision.  Instead, they were caused by imperfect execution and bad luck.  The first was thrown a little behind the receiver and bounced off a defender's helmet and right to another Card.  The second was a little underthrown and juggled three or four times before being grabbed.  Both could've just as easily gone incomplete. 

The team has a lot of work to do on both sides of the ball this week to prep for Akron.  They don't need to play their game to beat the Zippers, but it would be great if they came out and did it anyway just to get back in the groove.

The loss was a team loss - not Tettleton's fault. He gave us two chances to win on the last two drives. One drive, the running back fumbled, on the other we missed a field goal. The kid is doing his best, and remember, no one feels worse about the loss than the team themselves. Tettleton is young, and yes he will make mistakes. Mark my word, he will be the top quarterback in the league for years.
