I'm not calling for Frank's head. Just wondering where the fire is.  If he doesn't have it, pass the job to an assistant who does.

It's all about the lineplay.  Must keep upgrading, loading up on the lines.

Hopefully, we'll be okay this year.  Then, watch.  2012.

Obviously the "bookies" missed the memo about the OHIO injuries. The past 2 weeks they had us 8.5 road  favorites against Buffalo and 14 point favorites against Ball St. The bookies would probably concur that OHIO has underperformed in each of those. We really aren't beat up offensively and we should have had the scoreboard ringing at home against Ball. Granted we are young and really beat up defensively, can't make any excuse for the offense though. Just sayin.

I've lost a ton the past few weeks taking the Cats to cover.  At least I had a large bet on the under (58) yesterday.  The sad thing is that we will be a big favorite next Saturday, too.

We will get a win next week, but......I don't think I will take the Bobcats to cover whatever spread we are given.

OK.  Song long as there's no room for accountability in your world.  I'd want to make Frank's salary with no accountability, too.

Compare Frank's compensation with his predecessors and then compare his W-L against theirs. 'Nuff said.  You bring a weak argument to the table.

Solich - made $460,800 in 2010 - record at Ohio = 44-39

Knorr - made about $150,000 in 2004 - record at Ohio = 11-35

Grobe - made ? in 2000 - record at Ohio = 33-33-1

There was a shift in play calling in the second half, with us trying fairly low percentage long throws (incomplete, in windy conditions and tight coverage) on first down for three consecutive possessions.  I thought those got us out of rhythm a bit.

Be interesting to see what the comparative budgets are.  I'm guessing Frank is working with a much larger bucket of money than Grobe and Knorr.

I certainly don't think it is time for a new Coach.  I do think the current group has done well in comparison to previous staffs.  My biggest disappointment is that i thought we would be able to bring superior talent to Ohio with this staff and their name recognition.  Obviously, that has not been true.  Although we win more recruiting battles than in the past, the bottom line is everyone in the MAC is going after second tier talent and nobody gets all of it so it is spread out and nobody is dominant.  You throw in a few injuries and the result is a disappointing season.  I fear there is more to come.  Look at the time of possession Saturday...can't stop anybody and can't sustain long drives.

I will also add the ONLY way to really upgrade talent is to get out of the MAC.  Cincinnati is a prime example.  Ten years ago Miami and Ohio were even in talent with the Bearcats.  With the switch to the Big East, they have been able to get those 8-10-12 three and four star players.  NO MAC team can do that.  Of course with the woes of the Big East who knows what will happen.

I think a lot of people are just frustrated, and I can understand that. The record could easily be a lot better at this point than it is, and I believed it would be. That still doesn't mean that fans should give up on this team. They should continue to improve, and with luck some of the injured players will be back. By late season, this team hopefully will return to the form they showed against Marshall. I still believe that this is the best Ohio team yet under Solich, and has the potential to accomplish some good things before this season is over.

As for Solich's intensity, I did get a chuckle out of that. If you want to see it, look in eyes. He may speak quietly, but I think most everyone knows he is a very focused person.

You can't be serious. I've been at this since 1968 and if this isn't the most successfully sustained run of highly competitive Bobcat football teams you just simply haven't been paying attention.
I'm far more concerned for the fortunes of OHIO football after Solich leaves/retires than I am with him at the helm. Yes, we've underperformed the last few weeks and that is highly disappointing. I don't think it's been because Solich has been less than intense. I saw him about an hour before kick-off against Ball last week - he sure looked intense to me.

One of the problems with the loss of history on bobcatattack.com is that one can't go back to 2005-2006 and read the posts. The posts now are dramatically different from back then.  In 2005 I marvelled at how quickly the fans gave up when the team played poorly, and then changed back to positive when things went right. Just as the program has grown more solid, so have the fans. A loss at Rutgers, and even at Buffalo did not cause any loss of faith. Even now most fans, though frustrated, believe this team can still salvage a decent season. Granted it won't be the season I had hoped for, but I still think are are going to play some good football in the weeks ahead.

Good Gawd!  Apparently we've become O$U without the $...

Calling for Coach Solich's head (not to mention a Sophomore QB who's arguably the best we've seen on the field in decades and who clearly holds the evolution of Ohio football in his hands) after 2 losses by a total of 4 points (both of which were played with a significantly depleted Defense).  You people are an absolute embarrassment...

No good can come of further posts for a while...I'm out until after the Temple game...An Owl feast to be followed by a Crow feast...

Go Bobcats!

Please know that sane fans are still out here.  We know what you're capable of and  we support and appreciate your efforts day in and day out!
