No sooner than the clock shows 0:00 some people are complaining about the coach..you fair weather Ohio fans amaze me! This team played its butt of the last 2 weeks and has been DECIMATED  by injuries in key positions. I dont care who you are when you are down to true freshmen who last week werent even dressing for the game then you have problems. Guys like Noah Keller and Eric Benjamin are playing hurt every game..Ohio has some of the best and some of the WORST FANS that I have seen..dont let me start on the COMPLETE LACK OF KNOWING WHEN OR HOW TO CHEER FOR YOUR FOOTBALL TEAM STUDENTS AND FANS!!!! WTF!!!!!

Please, this happens every where at every school after two straight losses, especially against team's we should've beat. Just knee-jerk reactions.

And you can predict what posters will go off with rants.  One, who seems to always post nonsense, stated that Tettleton was horrible and cited 2 INT's. Both of them were tipped and neither was a poorly thrown ball.

Bottom line is injuries have taken a big toll and today Ball State was the better team. They executed well with no TO's.

We've been crying about injuries for the last 5 years. Other teams in the MAC compete with injuries why can't we?
Please don't call me a fair weather fan since I haven't missed a home game since 1961.

I cant say I agree with anything here......

We cannot use the injuries as excuses for these losses, Buffalo and Ball State arent good enough, Buffalo got smacked out of the stadium today by Temple and Ball State is nothing to write home about.  Every team has injuries this time of year, some more serious than others but to use the injuries as an excuse for these losses is not valid in my opinion.

What I saw today was too many mistakes by the players on the field (and I am sick and tired of saying that after every week) and unfortunately when players make the mistakes I saw today like repeated turnovers, bad choices and bad penalties that kill offensive drives that are just getting started, its the coaching staff that gets the blame.

now, saying that, I do not think we should even think about getting rid of Solich...he has legitimized this program and I think we are just starting to see the real fruits of his labor through recruits both in and out of state.

Personally I think this team thought their "you-know-what" didn't stink and they bought in to all of the preseason hype and these last 2 games they played like they should win by reputation alone.

I kind of had this impression, too.  We haven't had any sense of intensity since the Rutgers game.  In that game we were too intense and made errors (read fumbles) because we were trying too hard to make every play a great play rather than just taking what the defense gave.  Since then we've been sleep walking.  Time for the coaches to give them a wake up call.

Please, let's not waste time by talking about a coaching change. I don't think any of us want to go back to the Bryant/Lichtenberg/Knorr days. That's what quite likely could occur.

Solich is our man, and I'm behind him.

It's hard to believe the team could have any passion based on what I've heard in recent Solich interviews.  His post-game comments were essentially "Shucks, we just didn't pay well enough."  Where's his own passion?  Why isn't he pissed?

And finally, where's this "program" he's been building for seven years?  We get some injuries and suddenly we can't stop a weak team on our own field.  Yeah, Frank, shucks.  Shucks that we got another delay of game penalty using our "hurry up" offense.  Shucks we had to use a TO because we couldn't get the right number of players on the field. Shucks we made zero defensive adjustments to counter their passing game.  Shucks our coverage was soft all day long.  Shucks that Gerald Moore must be on every opposing offensive coordinator's X-mas card list.

This is priceless.  Yes, they were tipped...by opposing cornerbacks who tipped the ball into their safeties' hands!  In both cases, he lobbed soft throws into double coverage.  One ball hit the back of the corner's helmet, so, yeah, it was "tipped."

Weak team? Huh?

BSU has played a tougher schedule than we have.

They beat Buffalo; we lost. They beat Indiana, a weak team. They had no TO's in the game. Deal with it; they deserved to win. Blame Frank all you want.  It's not Frank out on the field.  He didn't get the delay.

OK.  So long as there's no room for accountability in your world.  I'd want to make Frank's salary with no accountability, too.

Compare Frank's compensation with his predecessors and then compare his W-L against theirs. 'Nuff said.  You bring a weak argument to the table.

He's been here seven years. Zero championships, two embarrassing bowl performances.  Every year, one or more inexcusable losses against sub-par competition. I'm sorry, but where's the "program" we've been talking about for the past two years?

So you want Cleve, Lichtenberg or Knorr back? Maybe Brian Burke since he was a bit better than the other three?

FRANK IS AND WILL BE THE BEST OPTION FOR OHIO. Maybe you guys dont remember well...Ohio used to lose recruits to schools like Appy State..JMU...Montana..Youngstown State...one bad hire then it can easily go back to those days. Our stadium is not the draw for these kids.

I'm not calling for Frank's head. Just wondering where the fire is.  If he doesn't have it, pass the job to an assistant who does.

BTW, I have heard through multiple sources that our 2010 recruiting class was a disaster - several questionable characters have been separated from the program.  Next two years could look a lot like the past three games.

Agreed.  But SBH and bobcatjohn are the real experts here. LOL. Neither seem to know much about football but have the ability to rant with their emotional outbursts.

Again, I lived through those painful years and suspect I attended 80 percent more of those games than you. But Frank has a budget that is nearly 60 percent higher than his predecessors, too.  He has not gotten us over the top in seven years - not even close to it, in fact.

Thanks to SBH for allowing me to outsource my meltdown tonight. Next time it goes to Kolkatta_LOVE.

How come the alternative to Frank is only Knorr / Freak Nasty / Lichtenberg? Is it impossible to nab a Grobe?

I'm a big Frank fan. He's become a very solid Coach in the past 7+ years. I think we've all watched him evolve (in a good way) right in front of our eyes.

That said, I think he would actually agree with some of SBH's more vivid criticisms tonight. I tweeted to Arkley early in the 1st Quarter that it felt like a "Buffalo Hangover." No energy from our team, our fans, and our staff. I think you can put that on Frank. We should have come out like a house of fire, and rung up 55 on the Cards today. Even Rufus on his motorbike was passe'.

This schedule was setup for a lot of W's and let's face it, it is already a colossal disappointment with 3 losses. I don't think intensity and focus is something that will be lacking for long, if it was every lacking before. I'll go on record as saying we win out except for BG. That game has always been circled on my schedule as an L.

695 hit it on the head too. We just aren't very good right now, which sucks because everyone preached about the new heights we could achieve with this dumbed down schedule. We need to abandon this garbage schedule ASAP and get serious about becoming a more well rounded program.

This is the funniest post ever. Get rid of Solich because he lost two very close games back to back. Do you realize what this coach has done for this program? How about blaming a bunch of Ohio fans who can't fill the stadium on Homecoming weekend? The guys played hard. I didn't agree with all the play calling, but I don't get paid to call plays. Weller missing a field goal at the end of the game; well, he's been money in the bank for this team, let's not attack him for one miss. Ball State's punter kept pinning us inside the 10 yard line. This made it very tough to recover. We nearly did it twice. Our running back lost a fumble which stopped one drive at the end of the game, and the missed field goal sealed our fate. Oh well, we will move on. We can still string a five game end of the season winning streak. We've done it before, but it will not be easy. The MAC is tougher than normal this year so Akron is about the only easy game of the season, and as we all know, if we overlook them we are in big trouble. Temple, Central, BG, and Miami will all be very tough games for the cats. Let's see what they can do from here. Keep your chins up. It's not the end of the world.

I think the 2011 class will cover any problems with the 2010 class. The 2010 was a small class to start with. No offensive guys standout other than Tettleton....who probably had his worst game yesterday.  Carpenter is already getting starter minutes and Ingol and Grady could develop into starters.

Speaking of the 2011 class....true freshman DT Antwan Crutcher had 9 tackles yesterday....he's about the biggest DL we have now since Huynh is out.....just let him play.

I believe Frank was extremely angry at the refs following the Buffalo game. I think he knows his team had its share of mistakes, but considering the injuries dealt to the team, he felt it was an awful lot to overcome. I think he was hurt for his team because he felt they had a win taken from them when they did a lot to rise to the occassion.

After the Ball State game, I had a sense that he was more disappointed in his team, especially the offense. Frank hates turnovers and that was the reason the Bobcats lost. Blankenship was in during the last drive because Harden fumbled. I don't see any lack of passion from Solich or the players. They all want nothing less than to win and I think it is killing them that they've lost the last two weeks.
