They will never do it, but I think a green pawprint would look AMAZING. I really like the matte finish on the helmet too.

That'd be perfect. Just perfect. You know, like back to the future. It'd have something for everybody. Love that idea.

if they don't go with the green pawprint this year, I say we take up a collection for they carbon fiber looking Grey Helmets and have a paw print on that one for next season's homecoming or something.

I'm sorry if this has been posted already, but just caught this on Chase Cochrans twitter.

Chase Cochran
sorry to all my followers, I didnt get a picture of our new balck helemets, but big thanks to and the rest of the staff!

So were selling out and changing our uniforms? At least OSU gets all that Nike money for *&^%^$# around with their colors and uniforms. This is stupid

Get off my lawn!

The funny thing is I am 22 and a recent graduate, I just consider myself a traditionalist on uniforms and school colors. I second what others said about not liking the uniform change, but being able to tolerate it if it somehow motivates the players etc. I always thought our green uniforms were pretty sharp

The dull finish does not do much for me.

I like - a lot! Has a military/utilitarian/meant for business gonna get down 'n dirty look. Shiny black would look like a bowling ball............

I'm with you, I like the matte finish over the shiny.  Not sure why, it's just my opinion.  Does anybody know what decal they are putting on the helmet? An white arched Ohio?

The decal will be white OHIO outlined in green.

Wow...thought this information wasn't supposed to be released until Friday when they were done and were going to be revealed to the players first.

By the way, they left the Fedex Ground distribution center in Chillicothe (where I'm currently working) on Tuesday and was told by Matt Morton to keep it quiet when I inquired him.

Edit: I stand corrected, Chase is a football player apparently.

I said when we got the uniforms I'd love to see a matte black helmet to go with them -- glossy black just doesn't seem to look great to me.

As much as I love our regular uniforms (and I think their design is about as traditional and clean, but interesting as you can get), I don't think it hurts to do something special every now and again, especially if the cost is low/nil, as it was on the unis.

So there won't be a Youtube video of the spontaneous celebration?

Kind of surprised Putnam Field did not break the news, guess he is glued to the computer checking the Athens Court website.

What are the bets that we go with the attack cat on the side of the helmet with two green stripes and a white stripe in the middle?

I was thinking more like across the front of the helmet with the whiskers elongated toward the back, sort of like what the Eagles and Vikings do.  So when the opposing linemen look at our guys, the first thing they see is the attack cat.  Not sure of that's within the rules, though (they seem to have a rule for everything regarding unies these days).

I think that sounds cool in theory, but I am envisioning an execution which looks way too much like a common housecat.

Has me thinking about plain helmets and the original Mean Machine Jerseys with the Black and Orange Halloween theme! Note Burt Reynolds wearing #22 like Beau Blankenship.

Let's go really retro . . . Blue and White uniforms.  Before the 1892 season, Ohio's first in football, the college colors were blue and white.  However, the coach, who I think was a graduate student, couldn't find any blue and white uniforms to order, so he ordered green and white uniforms from the company that supplied his undergraduate school with uniforms.  Therefore, we ended up with Dartmouth green.  Doubt this will ever happen, but I would think it a neat idea.

How do you think the equipment guys are able to "customize" the uniforms for the Temple game?  The controller is integral!  Would like to see us step up to a PS3 or Xbox 360 controller to make these changes though.  Liking the old school N64 - 007 multiplayer anyone?

I like the idea of a green paw print too but ultimately going with the white OHIO is the right move. This is too important of a branding moment with the exposure on ESPN, and the letters O-H-I-O make for a really cool logo. So cool in fact other schools not named OHIO want to own it.

Now I hope Temple gets invited to the BE before the game then we blow their doors off 56-0 on ESPN. If that happened I would be content with not winning another game all season.

I'm in. I financed a few tanks of gas in high school playing GoldenEye for cash....although Mario Kart 64 was probably my best game, but we never could play that because everyone always fought over who got to be Yoshi.

Edit: Also, the fact that N64 is now considered old school makes me feel really old.

Wario was better.

That's it, GoldenEye and MarioKart tournament at the next Bobcatattack tailgate. I'll drive 2.5 hours from Cincy for that.

Wario was usually my second choice, depending on the track.

I've got to figure out whatever happened to my system. I'm guessing it's in a closet at my parents' house. If not, I think I know what I'm asking my wife for Christmas.

Your wife would get a thumbs up in my book. Even better, ask for the Wii and you can download MarioKart onto it. Both 64 and Super NES versions.

By the way, subject at hand, black helmets with nothing but a big 62 on the side is my preference.

The premier of the new uni's was appropriate and brought the necessary result for both the 'Cats and stupd cow.

I'd rather we not wear them again until we've earned the right...maybe by beating temples...but probably by winnning the East.
