sweet! my first thought when I saw the black jersey reaction video was "I hope whoever makes our helmets is watching this". sounds like they saw it. The white helmets with the all back unis reminded of the probowl where everyone wears their own teams' helmets that don't always go with the probowl jersey.

legit!

I'm with you, I like the matte finish over the shiny.  Not sure why, it's just my opinion.  Does anybody know what decal they are putting on the helmet? An white arched Ohio?

They will never do it, but I think a green pawprint would look AMAZING. I really like the matte finish on the helmet too.

No matter how good the uniforms look our colors remain green and white. I just cannot agree with changing our uniforms.

I may not like it personally, but if it motivates/inspires the team I'm for it.

I kinda, sorta like the black thing in small doses but the matte finish, despite being in vogue, doesn't do much for me.  Men in matte helmets have a checkered history.

Makes me wary

I caught part of the Rutgers game where they debuted "flat" black hlemets.

Apparently,RU had previously had "shinny" black ones because everyone was commenting on how much better the 'flat' black looked.

From what I saw of the game, the "flat" black works really well, especialy "under the lights".

What are the bets that we go with the attack cat on the side of the helmet with two green stripes and a white stripe in the middle?

I think this is a fantastic idea and cant wait to see the uni's in person Wednesday night!!!

For everyone that is vocal against the the alternate uniforms, you are more than entitled to your opinion, but you might as well suck it up and accept this as a sign of the changing times.

Despite what you might think these uniforms not only get the team pumped up but they are also a big recruiting tool.

Just last week ESPN did a whole segment on College gameday about the thought processes behind these alternate uni's that have been the "next big thing" now for about 4-5 years obviously starting with Oregon, and they definately correlate to a increased success in recruiting.....(I cant say I agree with the "why", but it does)

Just ask yourself this, for those of us who have played or play the EA sports college football game, if given the chance to choose an alternate jersey for home...who doesnt choose it.  I think its great that our football program is trying to keep itself relevant in the national limelight of ESPN.

College aged kids nowadays love this flashy alternate stuff.

Back in the 90's when I was still coaching, i clearly remember the charge that our team got out of new uniforms.  There's something pretty cool about wearing something "fresh out of the box."  I just hope that we have good weather that night.  A cold rainy night and a tv game will keep many people home and take away from what could be a great atmosphere.

McKinney, do us a good weather anti-rain dance will you.

I thought the black uni's looked good with the white helmets, but the flat black is some next level shhh. I also would like to see an "alternate logo" as opposed to the standard arch OHIO. Go CATS!! Cant Wait!!

I think they will go with the Ohio Arch outlined in white!

I am with this....I think it would be the perfect blend between new and old school...mostly new school with the color and overall design change, but just a touch of respect to the old school pawprint....think ND's uni's earlier this year with the clover leaf on the helmet...just fugly enough to me to be awesome looking.
