Mount Union actually plays great football..don't have the scholarship levels but they can beat many FCS teams.

If even these guys do intend to leave the program, there's no reason to not play out the rest of the season.

Someone in the know and on the payroll so of course I can't disclose their name. Snyder is in talks over his hold out with the coaches..Vick is on the fence apparently so maybe they will have a change of heart...who knows I'm off this topic it's drawn on far too long maybe someone will ask why no other QB's practiced this weekend in the press conference LOL

If all of this is true, I am in complete agreement with the coaches.  Snyder had an opportunity to compete for the starting job in the preseason to Tettleton, and once Bates was moved to WR, it became apparent that Snyder was the backup quarterback.  There is no way that as a coach you promise you backup quarterback so many snaps per game.  Each game is different and you have no idea what the scenarios would be, and I believe that the backup QB would know that.  I can understand being frustrated but you are one injury from being the man.  There is no way that before the biggest two games of the year, perhaps in school history, that you just walk out on your team with these unrealistic expectations.  I will wait to see how this plays out, and Im definitely taking this "report" with a grain of salt.

Every rumor I've ever heard has always had the informant being "someone in the know and on the payroll."

Two practical questions:

How many of these guys would be on the travel team anyway?

How much damage might they have done this year by bitching about lack of playing time?

According to the email I have from Tom Symonds, there is practice at 2:30 this afternoon. It sounds like Vick doesn't plan to be there until Tuesday. I don't know about the others. I don't even use twitter, but I did decide to look up a few statuses:

Derrius Vick, about 23 hours ago:
"Welp going back to OU for practice Tuesday."
"Leaving monday nd shouldn't be to long til I'm back"
Later:
What's everybody doin tonigh!! I'm leaving monda, need to do something
thts what I'm saying, for 2 days?? Coach is tellin me to come back.

Not sure what that last one means, but other than that, sounds like he intends to be at practice Tuesday.

Kyle Snyder's tweets are protected. I couldn't find Ronnie Bell's account.

Exclusive News, as usual, RUMORS!!

This should have ended 9 hours ago.  Bell is transfering, Vick is back and Snyder will also be back in fact he was due in last night.  It was known about Bell for some time.  Snyder playing, but wants to be coddled.  Oh Well, TT is here to stay, Bates is here. Let's move on....
Beat the crap out of NIU, at least by one point.

Roback was a pretty good QB in High school, I could see him taking some snaps if needed.

Yeah perhaps Bobcatblitz is an angry father, I don't know, but that's the only way to explain the tenor of his posts.

As to the matter of "we should be playing Snyder some snaps", does anyone even remotely agree with that??  I don't care if Snyder was everything and then some as a QB in high school, so what?  I mean, we've just enjoyed perhaps the greatest season an Ohio QB's had from start to finish in maybe a generation and the coaches are supposed to be giving a freshman some snaps at the position??  Seriously??  That is an absolute joke.

Again, if this is true and only assuming it were true, perhaps Snyder or whoever the unhappy QB is would be better served learning from Matt Cassel's situation in college-he sat behind both Carson Palmer and Matt Leinert at USC, yet still made it to the NFL and parlayed his efforts into a large contract with the Kansas City Chiefs.

His hold out?  Giving him a bit too much star power - don't you think?

Shouldn't MH55 have popped up by now to inform us that Temple's Big East invite is in the mail?

Brings back memories of Mr. Jordan (Dan, QB) and Mr. Browning (Jeff DL).

Sorry MH55, in order to get to Detroit, you would have to drive through NW Ohio. It seems that Temple has problems with that part of the state.

Until these rumors can be substantiated, I think it is best to lock this thread.

You should look at the box scores more often most programs do let the backup see snaps during the game. Snyder stepped on the field in a paltry 4 games as the backup.

BCB and everybody else who has weighed in on this discussion that has sometimes second-guessed the coaches ... a question: In at least three of the last four games, was there really a common-sense reason to use anybody but the starter (that would be the nail-biters vs. Temple, BG and Miami).
I'm with you on the notion concerning attitude, but keep this in mind: Phil Bates is wearing Green and White following a similar departure from Iowa State.
