I stand corrected.......apparently I'm just blind

Also, I'm content.  It's a bowl.  My friend who doesn't even go here said the same thought that I have:  At least we're going to a bowl and it is against a tough opponent.  As stated earlier, we cannot complain about which bowls we go to until we start winning bowls.  So I say we just swallow this, go and destroy our vocal chords for our team.  What say you?

I'm with you, and that's a good point. 0 bowl wins in the program's history makes it tough to offer a compelling case for bigger bowls.

I will certainly be cheering on our Bobcats for this one. This is a winnable game in a well-known venue. However, I am concerned about fans being unable or unwilling to travel and having another near-empty stadium shown on ESPN.

No, you've got company.  Idaho in December -- what a dream trip.  My thinking is also colored by the fact this is one of the two bowls possible for MAC teams to appear in this year that I can't go to -- the other being the Pizza.  The timing is just not good for me with these pre-Christmas bowls.  I will be watching on TV and rooting for our first bowl victory.  If we get it, not only will we get the no bowl victory monkey off our back, I'll exorcise a personal demon.  If you were there in the PapaL era for the rain-soaked 6-0 loss to USU, you'll know what I'm talking about.

I think it's going to be more just unable to go more than unwilling considering the location and timing (Boise a week before Christmas - VERY EXPENSIVE travel).  I know I won't be able to since I'm just fresh out of school and with very little money.  However I will turn whatever bar I land in into a Bobcats bar that night

Thought this was interesting...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TtTrdYHyZc0

1) President of the school talking about hoping they got to a bowl game before he died
2) They seem pretty happy to be going to a bowl...any bowl
3) Not long ago we might have been just as happy, and..
4) Isn't it nice to be at the level where we can legitimately hope (expect) to do better?

Just thought it was interesting.

Aggie Fan here.. Given what we have been through in the past decade (+) with a football team that just couldn't produce Wins on the football turf. I'm really excited about this Bowl opportunity- Our players are also stoked and ready to play for a Bowl Win.. USU will bring our traveling fan base to Boise and attempt to make it a home game, This video is great because 3 years ago before we hired Gary Andersen to be our Head Coach, None of us thought we'd see a bowl this soon and many of us were settling into the idea that we'd have another decade of losing on the turf to settle for.. Aggie fans are relentless, and we are faithful.. I want to offer my congrats to you guys on a good season, as well for getting out of your funk and producing winning seasons these last few years, USU is on the uprise, I can't wait to reach the point where we "Expect" to do better than just reaching a Bowl - I don't think that's too far off for our program and I don't think our programs are that different, It should be a great game! I'm looking forward to it!

I'd much rather watch a replay of the infamous Utah State 5, Ohio 0 game of 1994 than this bowl game...

I was there.  Watch the bowl game instead.
