Arrived in Detroit about 45 minutes ago.  Checked into the nice Marriott Hotel with a view of the Detroit River and Canada.  We saw a ton on NIU fans and marked NIU shuttle bus stops.  We inquired about Ohio shuttle buses to the stadium and were told there weren't any.  Way to go Ohio Athletic Office -- very bush league, IMHO. My wife is even using a word she hates that begins with "s" and ends with "k" to describe the situation.  Hint, it's a word usually reserved for use in references to Oxford Tech.

LOL there wasn't a shuttle bus last time either.  If I recall we just took that light rail system they have and walked the rest of the way.

Good to know you've got your priorities in line, OCF.  Here's an idea, walk a few blocks to Ford Field.  Plus, the tram system covers all the nearby areas.   Can you really justify the university spending extra funds to shuttle your ass around Detroit?  I'm gonna use a word I hate to use: Tell your wife to quit b*t*ch*in* and remember that you're there for a football game, not an exotic vacation.

Ironically I rode the light rail with OCF in 2006 over to the stadium from the hotel.

Have my Stafford Owens / Lavon #7 Jersey laid out to wear hear in Richmond.  If I drink enough beer I might put some eye black on and wear my Ohio Helmet with the surrond sound cranked.

Wasn't that your son that wore my helmet at Virginia Tech?

Couldn't agree more my Firestone Falcon friend.  The last time I went to this game we just jumped on the shuttle that the other team had.  We were welcomed aboard and had a great time.   Hard to believe that a hard line republican like OCF would be asking for a handout.

I'm less embarrassed reading posts from the Marshall brain trust or MH55 than this post...

That away Al -- let's make this political. She wasn't asking for a handout just some organization. We didn't display much of that commodity off the field or on the field! A reasonable fee for a shuttle would have been just fine with my wife. As it was the hordes of Bobcat fans getting of the people mover had no idea where gate C was and were appalled at the long lines at the will call window. Since we were going to the Bobcat Bash we were able to circumvent that once we figured out we didn't have to stand in line with the masses. All and all a very disorganized effort on the part of all involved. But, I'll be back for more abuse. I'm an Ohio Bobcat fan for life!

Can someone please shut this Nudnik (OCF) down already? This is the most inane post I have EVER read on this board. My god.

+1...The fact that this is the focus of your criticism tells me how well the AD did.  Although I was outraged that the AD didn't have people going through the will call line giving out foot massages!

Though I don't like to make a habit of responding to egomaniacal, narcissistic censorship advocates like BL, I stand by my comments that NIU did a better job in terms of AD-level organization.  However, I should add in all fairness that the Bobcat Bash itself was very well done.  We were even "serenaded" by the 110 as we were eating dinner.  Loved it!

I would also like to say that I said nothing to indicate that criticism of the coaches wasn't warranted.   I was sarcastically implying that the experts on this board always think they know more than the coach.  I was including myself as one of those that has a tendency to do a little Monday morning quarterbacking.

Don't you just love back peddaling.  By the way Carl, the Bobcat Bash is put on by the alumni office under a purloined name.

I will be at the Oakland game Wednesday night, and there'd better be an OU shuttle available to transport me from my parking spot to the front door or I'll be very disappointed in my alma mater. And my wife? She'll be pi$s*ed.

I heard SBH's wife didn't join him for yesterday's basketball game v. Morgan St. because of a lack of shuttle service from uptown to the Convo. My wife, after walking from Court St. to the game, mentioned a word she rarely uses. Starts w/ an S and ends with an S.

Which reminds me of a fifth grader who came up to me during recess one day and told me about another student who used the H word. Now, I've had many kids reference the F word when telling on another student. Or sometimes the S or even the D word. But I couldn't figure out what this H word was. So I told the student that it would be OK this one time to say the word in question. She then informed me that the word used was whore.

Why not just tell OCF you disagree with his post and give reasons why...rather than turn it in to a personal beat down?

Because this clueless old man deserves a beat down.  I'm with Drew and Steve on this one.

Those detrimental posts are worthless.  Criticize a person's post, fine.  Attack the poster--then you are the problem.  Many of the 'attack' posts end up being the stupid, valueless ones.

These rules do not apply to boa from temples, of course.

Thanks for your kindness and compassion, Al.

Are you trying to match BL in the mean-spirited poster arena?  I'm sorry, but you are not quite making the grade.  He's still the undisputed champion of snide comments and self-serving rhetoric.  Like the Bobcats in Detroit you are only the runner up.  Better luck next time!
