Anybody know why the pass that hit the ref in the face wasn't intentional grounding? Refs are supposed to be part of the playing field so throwing the ball into the ref's face while under duress should be grounding. No receivers were in the area.
Once again, our KO return team costs us field position and may four pts. The KO after their FG was run back to the 18 instead of taking a touchback to the 25. We could've used those seven yds at the other end of the fiel instead of kicking a FG from their 2.
CJ hasn't looked awful. He's just made two awful decisions. Some really good Ohio QBs have done the same thing (T2 at MFOFO in 20212, e.g.). I was thinking he should get the bulk of the snaps next week to give Kurtis a rest, but now he might get them out of necessity.
We need to use our size advantage on the O line to run the ball down SUDSU's throat.
No impressed with announcers.
- They missed three calls alone in that sequence, so not surprised the ref who got in the face didn't see the grounding.
- Not impressed with Wilburn. And then he coughed it up. Luckily they called him down on his head.
- CJ throws an INT on 25% of his passes in the 1st half. That's beyond awful. He's missed Wiglusz wide open at least three times, including in the endzone. He holds this team back in every aspect of what we do best. On his last scramble he tip-toed out of bounds 3 yards short. He didn't reach for it. Zero effort. You can be bad - but you better reach for the extra yards.
- Announcers are probably a Mountain West crew. If they're not - holy smokes.
- Albin probably won't pull the plug on CJ, but Navarro and/or Winters should be up throwing. We're not gonna win a kicking contest.
- Still no word on Rourke?
