Burrow came back in less than a year. It’s becoming more and more common to be back in 7-8 months. ACL rehab is a lot better than it used to be. If he already got his surgery, he’ll probably start light PT in January, if not sooner.

Tore his meniscus, I swear that’s what I thought because I tore mine and in a similar fashion. I was actually in a hotel in Hong Kong leaving the hotel with a couple of heavy bags, made a slight turn of my body and boom. Excruciating pain and barely made it back to the US, took the golf cart in Atlanta because I couldn’t walk. Had the MRI and they said rest, try and rehab or we can snip it but you may not be able to run long distance again. Now 70 and still run 20 miles a week, I was about 45 when I tore mine.
He said on air he tore his ACL and meniscus.

We’ll be lucky to see him by October next year.
Dang, that's worst case injury news. ACL is typically a year for full recovery by itself. Fingers crossed we can hopefully see him at some point next season.
Everything I can see nowadays has an ACL tear recovery in as little as 6-9 months. As more of a pass first QB hopefully Kurtis will be good to go.

I apologize to Andrew. His source was obviously impeccable.
Im heartbroken to be right but at least my credibility is intact. The best proof that my info was good was that BTC didn't immediately jump in and shoot it down. You know he wouldn't have been able to resist correcting me.

It may not matter but it seems like it's a low impact less gruesome tear, I wonder if that will also help recovery. Regardless, I agree he will be good to go come next September.

No reason to correct you when you are correct ;-)

Rourke off crutches per Russ and Rob radio broadcast. Kurtis was at the MBB game at the Convo.

Kid is getting atrocious advice. He should be on crutches for weeks, not out running stairs a week post-surgery.

I know Rourke is tough, but OBJ is still trying to come back.

Saw Kurtis at the basketball game. Had a brief conversation with him. He said that he would definitely be back by the fall, and that there was very little swelling in his knee prior to the surgery. He had no crutches, but a rather substantial brace. I think at this point, we should trust his doctors over internet medical critics who have not personally examined him and don't know the details of his injury.

One thing he said that fits with other stories that I've heard is that this team has great chemistry. In his words, "We don't have any big egos on this team."

Yes, seriously. You don't know anything about the specifics of his injury, surgery and recovery.

You could of let him keep his leg propped up and not made him move so you could sit down.

We moved over one seat and told him he could put his leg back over the seat, but he said he didn't want to at that point. Your powers of observation were apparently a little limited from whatever vantage point you had. Thanks for your unsolicited advice.

Running stairs, power-lifting weights, doing squats, out on basketball courts trying to dunk a basketball. What is he thinking? What kind of advice is he getting? Oh wait, he doesn't appear to be doing any of those things. He's off crutches following an injury of which we have no idea of the specifics. Word is he went to Columbus for treatment and we know his brother is a professional athlete - I'm sure he and the staff know a bit more about his situation than any of us - including those that have suffered knee injuries. But feel free to google all you want. May find out you are suffering from a rare condition that usually (but not only) effects eskimos.

Many people are saying Kurtis recently completed the Court Street Shuffle, as well.

On TV he clearly said he tore his meniscus, meniscus is cartilage. Depending on what part is torn and how bad its torn determines how bad recovery is. It's the cushion between the bones so its like getting a flat tire and riding on the rims, see it all the time on OP live. I didn’t hear him say ACL.

On the MACC presser he clearly stated ACL

I know what the Court Street Shuffle is. I wasn't born yesterday. I was trying to make one of my usual obtuse jokes that nobody appreciates but me. You know he kind of shuffles with that brace on.

I am reviving this thread for the back end of the journey. I am certain it has been addressed in other threads but I don't keep up with every football topic. Do we know if Nathan is playing Saturday? How limited has he been in camp? Any info would be appreciated.

And, likely, if everything this week is like a normal week even though it is a week 0 game, the Athletic Department will post the game notes for the media on their website today or tomorrow and it usually has the depth chart in it. Russ is an OU employee and if the athletic department wants him to allow Albin to skirt that question then Russ will allow him to do so. But I wonder if we are intentionally keeping from SDSU who the starter is likely to be.

Sounds like at the Press Conference he is passing off the decision until after Tuesday practice. I would be shocked at this point if he plays the first few weeks. I expect CJ to start but I am reading between the lines and making a wild uneducated guess.
