shame on Paul, this is terrible.

now I admit I don't follow college sports too carefully but I bet this has got to be one of the most embarassing things to happen to a program this year.

hopefully this will all be forgotten before our season opener next year, would hate to have Penn State fans making fun of us.

/sarcasm.

My goodness, people. If you don't like Twitter, don't involve yourself in it. It's pretty easy.

Also: This is a non-story. Paul never said he wasn't going to play. Headlines like "ripping the state of Idaho" is ridiculous and irresponsible. He said something mildly abrasive in the aftermath of what was probably the most upsetting experience of his sporting career, if not his life. That strikes me as an incredibly natural reaction.

And I won't advocate for sanitizing our athletes. As long as they're not tweeting about failing tests or drunkenly stealing bikes, we shouldn't scrutinize everything they say. Doing so probably alienates them.

A non-story? Why was it up all day yesterday on Yahoo? And why were there 500+ comments; many derogatory towards Hershey and Ohio?

Because people make mountains out of mole hills, especially in the media.

Imagine a comparable scenario in which you could publicly gripe about your next job assignment. Wouldn't go over too well in most settings with either your boss or the retailer or the customer.

It's rarely a bad idea to try to bring positive instead of negative attention to whatever entity is buttering your bread. if you Googled Ohio Northern Illinois MAC championship in the news category at a certain point this weekend, you saw a New York Times story about Bobcat defensive lineman Corey Hastings getting thrown out for punching a Husky.

I'm betting the production guys and the PBP guys weren't thrilled to find out of all the bowls they were going to Boise in December, either.  That pops into your schedule and I bet you just jump for joy.

Kind of like me -- what's reaction #1 to finding out you work until 3am Christmas Eve and 2am Christmas day?  Would anybody fault you for your reaction to that being, "ugh?"  But if you say it once, move on, and do your job, it shouldn't be a problem.  It isn't like he was harping on it all week and posting regularly -- it was a single initial reaction.  Talk about blown out of proportion.

The difference is he put it out there for all to see. I hope they are all pissed a bit about having to go to Boise because it was a missed opportunity to go somewhere better.

To me this is a non-story.

Will this be one of the worst bowls weather wise? Yes.

Was this story blown up by the media?  Yes.

Are comments from Idaho fans saying this will destroy Hershey's NFL hopes true?  LOL.

Will this be locker room material that will help Utah St. win?  LOL again.

Just play hard nosed football.  We have a road grader offensive line and a nice run stopping defense.  We should be hungry for a win.  They think we're a bunch of soft mamby pambys....as has been said before.....time to shutup and nut up.

For what it's worth, my facebook post right after hearing about our bowl game:

"Congratulations Ohio University on your great season, MAC East Title, and birth in the MAC Title Game. Your reward: a 'bowl game' in Boise in Mid-December!!! Bring your snow plows..."

The players are apparently thinking the same thing.
