Why is Ohio employing a coach at the D1 level when he has no idea how to manage a clock?

The entire 2nd half collapse is squarely on his shoulders. Ohio win the MAC if he stops making idiotic calls to throw on running downs when the Bobcats only needed to run the clock out.

Also, why did the D continue to put a LB on their best WR in the 2nd half? Moore got burned every time and each time it was a 30+ gain or a TD. Not his fault, but the coaches fault who should have had a DB out there.

I don't like the idea of people being fired after a winning season. Especially at a program where winning isn't a strong tradition.

But...

Someone's got to go. And Albin is that someone.

EXACTLY!!!  And it wasn't just Moore.  For whatever reason we thought we should put Nathan Carpenter on wide receivers too.  Total mismatch.

Albin has a been awful his entire tenure. When you run a gimmick offense (as OU does, at least up until this season) you will gain yards and score points. He's been so inconsistent with play calling and the offense has really lacked consistent scoring ability all year.

It wasn't Moore. It was Carpenter. You know brother of linebacker Bobby.

Unfortunately Nathan is really a linebacker with safety size. No business being one on one with their best playmaker. Inexcusable. Cost us time and time again. No accountability by the coaches to change that up.

GD!!!! We were lights out in the 1st half. Then we go into this BS, wussy, play callin the 2nd half, like the game was over. WTF!!!! We have NO killer instinct! We need to stomp teams when they're down. Did we really think 20 pts  would win this game?? Fire Albin

The first half, OU was running screens and dump offs to Brazil with success. Slants and comeback routes where gaining yards. Stuff like that would have continued to cause single coverage to go deep. If OU tried that in the 2nd half and NIU stopped them, then it would be easier to take.

Instead it was the stupid power run up the middle with a non-power back out of a non-power formation, a stupid slow as molasses pitch out of a pistol, then a 3rd and long pass.

It's not all Albin's fault.  A lot of the blame should also go on the players.  Brazil makes that catch in the end zone in the 4th quarter that went completely threw his hands and we win the game.  And a 12 yard punt???  Let's be honest-a lot of players/coaches had a hand in this abysmal loss.

Ther are many things that I am totally disappointed about.

1.  I am sick and tired of all the personal fouls. We have had way to many personal fouls over the years and this season included. I expect a team from Solich to be better than that. Two tongiht and the second one was critical.

2. The last two touchdowns where from mismatches. The first one, fine. The second one learn your lesson and prevent it from happening again.

3. Play calling in second half changed. Please play to win.

More later when I calm down.

We had to do about 20 things perfectly wrong, all in a row, to lose this game. We did 20 things perfectly wrong, all a row. We played not to lose starting at the end of the first half. NO KILLER INSTINCT BY THE COACHES!!

The personal fouls would have been an issue if they matter. The 2nd one just meant NIU wasn't going to gain 15 yards on another play, as they were doing what they wanted at that point.

I am actually new but seeing the game slip through OUr fingers disgusts me at the worst level.  I had to say something. That was the worst clutch play calling I have ever seen.  That play action pass was the worst play call I have ever seen giving the situation I actually have to state that twice because it was that bad and bizarre.  We got shut out in the second half while the defense was playing their hearts out.  This title should of been OU's  but it slipped through OUr fingers yet again..

If somebody sees Albin in Athens tomorrow I hope they ask him what the F he was thinking on that long throw. I still can't get over how that might have been the worse play call in all of the sport of football.

That play call hurt and the epic poor decision making by Ohio players threw this game away. I feel bad for Frank, the students and the fans. The players blew this game plain and simple. Tettleton must shoulder the blame for throwing into double and triple coverage time after time and making poor throws in the 4th quarter. He wasn't even paying attention on the snap on our last drive.

The second one was on a TD drive. The call was false start and then a personal fould that turned the false start into a first down. that could of been enough clock to change the game. It seems that it did.

He called the play, it was a young QB who decided to throw it long. There is more than one route ont that play.

I too think it was a bad play call, but Brazil was behind the defense when the pass was thrown.  It was a combination the pass being under thrown  and the safety making a great play on the ball that lead to the INT.  If the pass was 5 yards deeper, we would be saying that it was a great play call because we stomped on their throats....hindsight is always 20/20
