Logan Elm-I am sure they said the same thing about Cincinnati but look at what a difference 10 years makes.  Over 20 three star recruits, major bowls and lotsa wins.  The key is institutional committment and UC decided to go for it.  I'm sure Temple has the same kind of resources available as UC did and COULD make the same jump.  Remember, 10 years ago Miami was able to beat UC.  Now, they don't even belong on the same field!

Laughable, some scrub from Newark insulting a ']["emple education. So just how many degrees did you pick up from Ohio ? Tell me, is it harder to get a regulation size Snickers or a degree in Athens ??

Don't hate just because you couldn't get into OHIO or Delaware.

My pleasure, Bobcat fans. Now that its being reported Daz was the #1 target for Rutgers and he delivered a 1-2 combination while telling them he's staying @ "]["emple, this thread turns into just another 2,000+ view monologue to satiate Athenians desperate to know whats happening with the Owl. In a word, "imminent."

321 posts on our board and we're the ones who are desperate? You're hilarious.

MH55 is one of the biggest loser trolls on any board, but his lack of intelligence and his willingness to demonstrate it  is entertaining.

Cmon Munny, can we please keep this to salient discussion points, like "]["emple's late steal of Pitt LB recruit Alkwan Williams ? I really dont want to be forced to cover some of your frolics and 'capades into West Hollywood, OK, Abigail but I'll consider your next insult to be an invitation to do so...

Salient discussion points...

Example A...

Why would Ohio WANT to sign players that end up losing to us on the field?

I could see this being a valid argument... if we actually recruited in same area.

Why would we want to beat the Owls for recruits when all we do is beat the Owls' recruits?

Um no and no but congratulations on a class that ranks higher than Akron and MAC newcomer UMass.

Yea, according to Rivals we finished 8th - which is consistent with where we have been the last 5 years (average 7.5).  Of course, Temple has averaged the 6th best class.  But then class rank means nothing - as noted by Kent and Toledo dominating the recruiting class ranks the past 5 years.  So congratulations on finally winning something...anything in MAC football.  Though like only beating teams with losing records, class rank doesn't mean anything.  But maybe, just maybe if you string a few more classes together like this one you will finally get over the hump and beat Ohio...maybe.

It's a little early to know that, just yet. Rivals hasn't entered the Ohio recruiting class yet, along with some of the other schools. In any case, as you point out the rankings are pretty useless anyway, and don't have much correlation to who wins on the field a few years later.

I do remember Ohio getting a Philly area guy that Temple didn't even try to recruit- Vince Davidson. Vince didn't appreciate being overlooked by Temple and let them know it by  running for 100 yds and 2 TD in the rain in front of friends and family at the Linc in 2010.

55 I'm sure you remember that game, that was the one that the Big East officials attended to finalize Temple's imminent invite. Hows that working out for you btw? lol, loser.

Rivals has the recruits in, now, but hasn't updated the rankings. I am not sure if all the MAC teams are in or not. Whoops, they just updated the teams, now. Ohio jumped to #3, which is more like it. Had they not lost 2 from the class at the end, they'd have been higher. It's still a very good class, probably the best yet.

Thanks for the update. Not sure how they  determine "rank" - Temple has the #1 class, but they have 29 players.  5 are 3 star (17%) and 24 are two star (83%) - for an average of 2.17 stars per player.  Ohio has 19 recruits.  8 are 3 star (42%) and 11 are 2 star (58%) for an average of 2.42 stars per player - the highest average in the league. We'll continue to let them settle it on the field.

In a nutshell, Temple stinks. They get out coached, out played and out classed year after year. Then when they do manage to win a few games their trolls seep up from the sewer to talk trash. I for one love a good rivalry but Temple isn't a rivalry for Ohio, they are a victim.
