At first, I was like, "Haha....This is funny because 1999 was so long ago...." Then I remembered seeing the video of the superimposed bobcat on the crossbar at games when I was in college. Then I remembered that I started college 11 years ago. Then I remembered that I'm old. **sigh**

HA! That takes me back. It sounds a lot better coming out of my computer speakers than it ever did over the stadium PA system

I was at The Works in Newark (a science center similar to COSI in Columbus) on Sunday and had my "Ohio...the Bobcat State" shirt on.  One of the volunteers saw it and commented he was glad to see a fellow Bobcat.  He asked when I graduated and I told him 1974.  He mentioned he graduated in 1952.  That was the year after I was born.  CM, age is relative.

Watching this game, Chad Brinker just tore off what might be his best run as a Bobcat, after nearly fumbling he made about four great cuts and then was gone. What a fun game that was, shutting down Travis Prentice and giving our seniors a win over Miami.

Amazing that beating Miami was once considered an accomplishment

Wow, I remember this video. I actually love it and wouldn't mind seeing an updated version still used today. Funny story, the guy calling the game, Hub Burton, now works at my alma mater Marietta College. Thanks for sharing, made my evening!

Cool.  Mrs. BCB still talks about that video every time a new one is shown.  Ah, the good ol' days.

Really cool! That one brings back lots of memories. Mostly struggling to find the games on TV here in Columbus!

If I remember correctly, there was a story attached to said Bobcat. Pretty sure he got loose in the TCOM Building. Caused quite a stir, maybe I was drunk when I heard it maybe he was just nasty. Either way great memories.

Hey Tim...any way to get Brinker's from that game run up on youtube? One of the better moments in recent Bobcat history. Not much from that era is online now. Would love to see some of Kareem's better runs and even Keland Logan busting it for the win against Minnesota.

Wow! Quite the trip down memory lane. Back then it was pretty exciting to have these games on TV (even if it was some off-the-wall channel). Now 5-6 ESPN appearances per season is the norm. Pretty amazing how far we've come.

And, yes, I'd love to see some highlights of this era if anyone has some. Chad Brinker, Steve Hookfin, Kareem Wilson, Dontrell Jackson, Jamel Patterson, Kevin Kerr, Bop White...some pretty exciting players in the late 90's. Then along came this guy named Knorr.

Also if you have any vintage film on the old Ohio Fighting Chrysanthemums that you could post, that would be great too!

Peden Stadium looks so weird with the track and plastic white fences.

Is that Jeff Piecoro with the color commentary? I'm pretty sure he used to do MAC
games and that sounds like him.

Yep that's Piecoro.  He did others, but I've always been unclear how much he did.  I know he did a Marshall basketball game in 2001 with Hub, and maybe Estis.

Thanks Tim!

If I recall correctly, we went for two on the next play with and ran Brinker on a sweep. Not the best call of the Grobe era as the kid had no legs after the long run. But what a great game.

I think Dontrell Jackson threw for like 140 yards in that game and we were all agape for about a week at the display of air prowess.

I'll get my newfangled high-tech Retro-Cam out and we'll see what we can do.  The Retro-Cam is advertised as being able to rip a hole in the space-time continuum, and to have been used extensively in the production of Star Wars -- The Previous Millennium.
