Yeah I totally meant it too about putting it on a shirt. It wasn't drawing a parallel to the PSU T-Shirt or anything.
It's no less tasteful than the Penn State fans are being. It's like they completely forget that their coaching staff was, at the absolute best, idle while a longtime assistant coach was committing child rape in team facilities.
45 counts -- guilty. Bash the Freeh report all you want, you can't get around 45. How many could the school have prevented? We'll never know. How many other crimes committed under the umbrella of Second Mile (no way Sandusky was the only sicko involved there, none) could have been prevented? We'll probably never know that either since no one in State College seems to be trying to answer that question.
Which is the point. This wasn't just a Sandusky problem, or a PSU problem. Rape College is a small town, and you can't tell me kids didn't talk or try to tell people what was happening to them. We may never know the true depths of the cover up and corruption in that town that kept the lid on things for so long. This should have been a story a decade ago, and through the efforts of townspeople, it wasn't.
So if people don't like me using the term to describe the town, then the problem isn't with me, but with your delusion that the town wasn't in on it. Who's going to be the Sergeant Nicholas Angel and blow the roof off the place (and find the swan)?
