which lot did you get?

Yellow lot - and there are a bunch of them which are spread all around the stadium - but not the closest in lots

Actually you can get pretty close in the yellow lots if you're there when they open.  Take note of lots 24/25 on the parking map.

Anyone know preferred eating/drinking establishment downtown Fri nite and Sat after the game? Wanted to hit a few spots along College near campus as opposed to OUt on Atherton....

Here's a pretty good guide to PSU football weekends:

http://texanmarktailgate.blogspot.com/2011/07/penn-state-...

If it was up to me, I'd hit The Tavern on Friday night (the food is average to above average, but it's an excellent atmosphere restaurant that personifies PSU)  While you're waiting for your table (if you're at a restaurant in town on a football weekend and there's not a wait, it's not a good restaurant) have an Original Sin (pricy but tasty) at the  attached Adam's Apple bar.   Afterwards check out the Allen St Grille, Zenos or Rathskeller all depending on your individual tastes.  All those bars will have a good range of ages so you don't feel like you're stuck at a college bar.

Saturday after the game I'd go to Champs (near the hotels on North Atherton) and watch the other games.  They have a good number of beers on tap and have good food, too.

I've been told by some coworkers that went to PSU that these two places are fun:

The Gingerman (Gman)

The Rathskeller

Since we're staying right in town we're just going to hit the bars downtown Sat AM instead of parking at the stadium and tailgating.  You can walk from downtown, or there's also a shuttle on game days.  The Navy-Notre Dame game from Ireland is on at 9AM, too.

It's probably a 20-30 minute walk from a decent bar downtown to the stadium.  The 10 minute margin of error due to how much one may imbibe in the morning and how one may have to scramble to empty one's bladder on the walk up.

As noted, there is the shuttle, too, which drops you off about 200 yds from the stadium.

Thanks regarding the Penn St/Gameday website - pretty extensive and some good tips - forgot about Pennsylvania's restrictive alcohol laws.
Likely will be at a few places in town along E and W College for dinner and afterwards Fri nite. Will be hoping to take the bus service on the W side of town near the Spring Hill Suites.

Also note that taxi service in State College is very reasonably priced as compared to a typical urban area.
