Hampton Inn State College, about a mile from Beaver.  And I'm not driving to the stadium game day.  I guarantee OHIO vehicles will be vandalized after we beat them down.

Will be there with the National Capital Area Alumni Chapter contingent!  Some of the Penn State students are trying to get 200,000 to come to the game.  Of course the stadium only seats 106,000.  It should be crazy trying to get to the stadium.  I will guarantee that  the OHIO 110 outperforms the Penn State band.  Looking for the football team to do so as well!!  GO BOBCATS!!

Confirmed the entire band will attend so I edited back in the 10 that were going to stay home.

Hello Everyone, I found this site months ago duirng March madness and have been lurking ever since.

Thought it was time for my first post as I will be travelling from Western PA to PSU for the opening game. Should be an interesting atmosphere to say the least. Will try and make it to the Bobcat Bash but planning to get there right around the time it ends so maybe not.

Go Cats!

Welcome aboard! Glad to have another Pittsburgh area Cat fan on here! I'm a recent transplant to the Steel City, and I'll be heading up to State College as well.

I am a transplant to the Pittsburgh area as well. Grew up in Lorain County (Amherst and then Elyria) near Cleveland and have been in Western PA for the last 8 years. Great area to raise a family, except for all the steelers fans of course.

OHIO grad, 1996-2000, C.I. favorite bar. Biddle, Gam, off campus for last 2 years.

So I took the advice and called to get the $10 parking pass for the game - received it in the mail couple days later, along with a 21 page full color booklet all about game day parking, tailgating, seating charts, etc., etc. What a production, just for parking!

If you can't get them through Ohio, then you can try ticketmaster (they are available) and then of course stubhub and the other secondhand options.

Does anyone have/know the section # or location  in the stadium for the location of the primary Ohio section? Saw the seating map - wonder what one had to do to get in the tiny section close to the sideline near the 40-yard line....anyone know of preferred bar in State College after the game?

Note that day of game parking at Penn State is $40.  While you can't mail/web order parking passes now for the game, if you're up there during business hours Friday you can buy them at the ticket office for $10.  This year you can also get them express mailed 3 days before the game instead of the old 10 days, though I don't know how much that shipping is.

Also, there will be plenty of people scalping parking passes as you approach the stadium.  So if you see someone selling a parking pass for under $40, take it.  Note that the yellow passes are general parking so they can get you in any yellow lot.  Other colored passes are reserved parking with an assigned spot.
