Since 1839, it's been accepted as a simplified spelling of through, so that's good enough for me.

     Let me get this straight, Super Beef: "Thru" is not an acceptable alternative for "through" but you're not going to correct me for substituting "tonight" with "tonite"?

Well, since we're at it - when you are "thru" (http://grammar.quickanddirtytips.com/threw-through-thru.aspx) with that you might want to consider capitalizing "Messenger"

Please tell me that someone is on the horn with the VP Office to get him to stick around and watch the game. I can see him in the box with McD and being on TV during the ESPN3 game. Great exposure for OHIO.

Yes, and lines 2-3 hours long waiting to get into the game as everyone is given security scans/patdowns.
