This is as good of a defense (so far) as I’ve seen Ohio have since I started following the program in 2003.

When you have a great defense, every game is winnable. The defense carried the offense to the MAC championship game in 2006. This year's offense will be much better than the 2006 offense.

Defense is playing great. Nobody has mentioned our 2016 defense but had a very good defense that year as well.

That was probably the best front seven in a long, long time. Our QB play was, I think, the lowest level we had since at least going back to before Boo Jackson took over. We had some good young skill guys on offense. Mostly the same guys that scored a lot of points with Nathan in the following couple of years. If we had had a guy like Nathan Rourke I think this team might have been really really good. If, imagine it, Joe Burrow had played for his dad's team....

Would be a dream come true if that happened. That’s how I remember it. Elite defense offense struggled to keep them off the field. Almost won the MACC by upsetting undefeated western. Front 7 led by Bashem the qb attacker. Was a great season. Were driving late in 4th to go ahead western im sure as many remember then we threw a pick. Was the biggest MACC title crowd I’ve ever seen and will be hard to ever top it. If our defense can keep playing like this and our offense find the rhythm and success we had last year we can get the long awaited mac title. Great win! Gotta keep working to get better. Go bobcats 😺

. . .I agree with Vegas in that this has a high probability of becoming a shootout. Point total is at 62.5 right now. . . .
It may well be a shootout, but I can remember many times when the pundits made predictions like this and we ended up with a 6-3 defensive contest with only FGs scored.
Just saying . . .
I'll give you credit but not sure you actually called your shot lol. What an amazing performance by this defense, one of the grittier wins in recent memory for me.

After last year's shootout, the talent/experience FAU has at QB and their output on offense in week 1, I expected a much higher scoring game but was definitely glad to be wrong!

All I had to follow was the ESPN Gamecast and it only kept the time and score updates and it was thrown off by the delay so I really didn't know how the game progressed and kept thinking maybe the score was an error and was even more impressed when I learned that the lone TD given up was on a pick 6.

Looking forward to seeing how they perform against a Big 12 offense next weekend. Hoping the offense continues to round into form and keeps them off the field as much as possible to stay fresh.

FAU, up 56-14 after a touchdown with under 7 minutes left against in-state and conference rival USF, executes an onside kick attempt.
