I had a great time, and the Marshall fans were very pleasant.  I was surrounded by them on three sides and didn't get one dirty look or negative comment.  I might as well have been sitting next to Ohio fans (minus the cheering for our team).  I will be going back to Huntington again!

Mrs. Oldcat and I found the MArshall fans very nice just as we did two years ago. We had no issues at all even at Fat Patty's where Ohio fnas were few and far between. I was curious as to why some Marshall fans chose to sit on the fringe of our section at the very end of the stadium which were obviously the worst seats in the house but they caused no problems. It was a great scene at the conclusion of the game. TT throws the game ball into the stands which I took as a sign of how he appreciated our efforts in cheering them on. It was fiting that the game ended in front of us. The 110 played Light Up and Long Train for us before dispersing and we walked to the parking garage without incident. It was a great evening. We talked all the way home about the highlights of the game, the big plays, the times the defense stiffened and turned the Herd away at a time when our backs were against the endzone. Defense got pushed around but they still won the game. I was rather curious as to why we took the delay of game penalty at the field goal asa we had three timeouts in out pocket. Maybe it was decided the angle was better five yards further out but it appared to me that we just kind of blew it. Fortunately it didn't phase Mr. Weller. Lots of good memories from this one. Those of you that were there, and we were fairly well represented, saw a great contest.

I live here in WV, but it's not like anyone would know that seeing me in my Bobcat gear to treat me like a local. No one acknowledged me negatively. I pre-gamed at Fat Patty's with my wife, decked in her Marshall gear -- a Marshall grad. We had two extra seats and the table of Marshall fans next to us asked if we could spare them. We obliged and when the man recognized me in hunter green and her in kelly, he said "A house divided huh?"

I sat in section 113 surrounded by Herd fans. No one said anything to me when I cheered appropriately during our cheerful moments.

The one negative I would say was a man, obviously intoxicated, about 10 rows back, who yelled "cheaters" several times at Ohio during penalties. At one point, he yelled it thinking there was a personal foul on Ohio, but it was on Marshall. At that point, I turned around and said "Who's cheating now?" only to get a couple laughs from surrounding Marshall fans, because they knew the guy was drunk too.

Honestly, I felt invisible wearing my Ohio gear. No one batted an eye or gave me one bit of disrespect.

I will say, the most joyous moment of the evening was walking out of the Joan and it was silent as could be. It was the quietest exiting of 30,000 people ever.

Did they have any Web reviews available to read?

we'll all be rooting for the herd to win out, too.

"Here, kitty, kitty" sounds kind of clever to me.   It's at least on par with "Stupid Cow".

Excellent.  We were pretty obnoxious in our section but the Herd fans didn't do anything beyond playful bickering.  After the game a guy took the time to talk to my friends and I.  Extremely nice.  Also, the atmosphere in that stadium was amazing.  Better than at Michigan or OSU.

This may sound a little weird to say, but it could actually be true:  Maybe they actually want us to be good?  For a long time, we've all heard the talk from Marshall fans wondering why Ohio isn't a better team, how the fans don't support the team if they're any good, etc.  In terms of fan base, the two schools are way more similar than either of us would probably like to admit.  It makes for a much better rivalry.  Obviously Miami will always be our top rival, but they've been pretty crappy for the last several years.  Those games have lost a bit of its luster.  The Marshall / Ohio rivalry has always been good, but Marshall has consistently been a better football school for a longer period of time.  OUr program has been gaining a lot of steam over the last few years, which will only make for a better rivalry as we move forward.

They have been better last 25 yes but not last 40. That goes back to late 70's and early 80's and Marshall was not that good.

I will tell you this. Ohio has been better the last 2 years! ;)

I agree 1000% on the Thunder Clap! Dear lord Marshall fans please retire the clap!

I had no issues. There wasn't the over-the-top niceness that big programs show you ( I think those fans assume their teams are going to win by 30 so they act nice to you...Tennesse fans all but offered to wash my car for me) but everyone was cordial. The sound "density" is really good there. It builds and sounds much louder than a 35K seat stadium. Plus, a Chamber of Commerce day of weather didn't hurt.

I`m glad everyone had a good time and I also want to thank everyone for coming down to the game and helping to contribute to an awesome stmosphere. All the Bobcat fans I chatted with were pretty kewl and the four young men the wife and I talked to in the will call line were very nice young men. I think a couple said they were here on Bobcat attack. Good luck the rest of the season and it would be sweet to see you guys run the table 12-0.
