What in God's name are we doing? We seriously look totally lost out there.

Can anyone explain why an incomplete pass on a declined holding call loses 2 yards?  Outside of that nonsense, the officiating has been decent.

We have absolutely killed ourselves with terrible blitz calls on 3rd and long.  Need to disguise the blitz calls and not always call those on third down.

You can tell the defense has no idea what they are doing because on the fumble they were pointing for Ohio ball while the ball was still live and on the ground behind them.

Wow...our pass D is atrocious. Finally get a stop at the goal line, but it still doesn't excuse the pass d against an offense that had no passing td's coming into the game.

I hope they do. I just can't handle the irony.

This has sounded like UMass has exploited the shortcomings we've been concerned about (pass defense and kicking team). IF we pull it out it will be because we had more bodies for the final 15 minutes.

I'm not concerned about out kicking game nearly as much as I am that we are attempting so many field goals in the red zone.  we're not finishing drives and since when did we have the dropsies?  We don't drop passes but today they were critical.

I know Solich said Tettleton was 100% to start, but he is not 100% to play, should we have rested him another week after Vick's performance last week? Something was off with the timing and it seemed like there were a lot of dropped balls.

Our secondary has got to get their acts together, I know last year we has a string of losses by less than 5 points, so I know it is good that we are in the W column with these close victories, but we should be way more dominant.

Props to UMASS.  They brought their A-game this afternoon/evening. I will say, however, that we have to do something with the 3rd down defensive playcalling.

I'm going to describe a common theme this year. 1st and 2nd down plays results in 3rd and long...then we give up 10 or more yards on 3rd down for a first down nearly half the time.

I think this is definitely true, considering TT didn't practice as much, and sat out a week. He'll be practicing all week and getting back into rhythm. We just managed to squeak by in an off-week for the offense.

Agreed. Unfortunately, injuries have killed our secondary. Hopefully they can learn something from this near-loss to an 0-4 team.

How's this for crazy: Yesterday's Orlando Sentinel showed the spread on the game as 3 1/2 points, which I couldn't believe and so went on line to discover it at 24 1/2. I think the Sentinel got it right -- even if it was a typo.

No pass rish = big problem = very average defense.

There was a lot of big talk on this board about how we were going to annihilate UMass.  I tried to moderate that talk but got put down.  Even was edited by JSF.

How d'ya like me now, baby???
