Anyone see a spread yet?....N/A was how the game was listed in USA Today this morning.
I was expecting 18-21 for this game.
Current weather looks like possible rain, but it's early.

Tettleton plays.  Ohio scores more than against NSU because of limited travelling party.

I attempted to register for the UMass board but kept getting an error that the username I chose was unavailable.  99.9% sure it wasn't the username I was choosing and there is something wrong with their site..

UMass showed some signs of improvement vs. Miami last weekend.

While U.Mass did look bad early, I don't think they are that bad a team. I expect that they will win a MAC game before the year is out. Let's take care of business and make sure this isn't the one.

I dont think our defense is good enough yet to shut anyone out this season, especially on the road. Our offense is so good and scores so frequently that the defense is on the field too much to NOT allow a score. We'll still win big, but I think it's more like the New Mexico State score.

We would've shut out NSU if the backups backups hadn't come in.  I think UMASS is closer to NSU than they are to NMSU...

That score is hopeful as it is anything else... That kind of score would make a major statement to pollsters

I think our defense is better than you give it credit for.  We've held every team we've played to their season low in points except for NMSU and we held them to their season low yardage total.  We essentially shut out Penn State after the first quarter (blocked punt notwithstanding).  Marshall has averaged 47 points a game when they aren't playing Ohio.  They scored half of that against us.  We were up 44-0 on Norfolk State.   We also lead the MAC in scoring defense by 4 points a game. We lead the MAC in total defense by 30 yards a game.  And while we've given up a lot of yards passing our yards per attempt leads the MAC. Teams are attempting 43 passes a game against us mostly because we have been really good against the run.   Not saying the defense is flawless but it's been pretty good so far.

Would like to see a score in the 40's  to less than 12 with Blankenship and the subs wracking up over 300 yards on the ground with long sustained drives and 5-6 rushing TD's while TT watches.

Defense, shut down any attempt at running game like they've done the first 4 games--I've really liked the play of the defensive line this season.

Just like Norfolk, they are a bad team and they will be beaten by 20+. Winning a game in the MAC does not equate to "not a bad team". Unless you mean terrible, then yes, they are.

The board is privately run by its founder a few decades ago and works and commutes. The registering feature is disabled because of spammers. If you want to register, you have to email: webmaster@umasshoops.com or mike@umasshoops.com.

Perhaps D.A. can chime in since he is a NE Cat and has registered on our board.

Good info, thank you.  After you posted this I was reading their site and saw a sticky on this topic... Thing is it was in the basketball board.  We do play them in hoops this year, but the majority of the MAC fans are going to be on the football board confused as to why they can't register.  A sticky there would help.  Stupid internet spammers.

Really? They'll be getting pumped up to play in a place that will be a third-full at most?

I know the atmosphere at MAC Championships in hoops are a little better than GIllette, but OUr guys ALWAYS reference playing in a pro facility.

The venue doesn't matter; under Coach OUr guys play four quarters.

There won't be 61-0.  You know that I love the D so I hope we shut 'em out.  But if we're ahead big, expect to see lots of the back-ups (good!) and a dial back of the pace of the offense.  The heck with the pollsters, we aren't a team that looks to pile it on and pile it on some more.

Ohio is used to playing in large, empty NFL stadiums.  That's where the beating of Temple took place every other year.  They also have played in Detroit several times, although with less impressive results.

UMass is really struggling with the transition to D1.  I hope for the same thing as last week:  comfortable win, no injuries, bland play calling and a safe trip home.  For D.A.'s sake, I hope it is a beautiful day and he makes the short trip home hoarse from doing the O-H-I-O cheer so many times.

When I registered last year, I think the process was that when you request the username it generates an e-mail to the mod, but he is a very busy guy, as it took me a couple of months to get an e-mail from him saying my username was accepted and a temporary password was set up.

UMass showed improvement vs. Miami on the road.  I don't think this will be a complete blowout.

Goal:  Go 1-0 this week vs. UMass.
