As Boykin ran for that td I was screaming to slow it down and run some clock. Glad they didn't

While this does not address my central view that even being very competitive in the MAC is miles ahead of the bulk of the years that I have followed my Bobcats since enterring OHIO, i hear you.  But I was at Penn State.  This team came through.  I do not care if they are or are not top 25.   This team has heart.  This team has a superb coaching staff.  This team is exciting.  This team has the best university President for pep talks, halftime talks, and genuine interest in success of the athletic program.  Overrrated , underrated, I am not shy to say I am a BOBCAT football fan.  I loved my time at OHIO, really loved the university experience,  and now I can love and be proud my time rooting for OHIO football!!

73, I truly LOVE what you just posted. Thank you.

Anyone else actually believe that TT is healthy?  He is an unwilling runner for the most part and almost zero run plays have involved him.  He is less then willing to pull the ball down and run like he use too.

9704, I do not think TT is "himself." But that was a heck of a hole and run by Ryan B to (hopefully) put this thing away!

Nice to have the Boykin option back!

Appreciate the perspective 73. I think a number of folks here have become the kind of entitled we've purported to despise for years. I'm thoroughly enjoying the ride.

That is the way to play football.  That pass for first down was totally appropriate and counter-intuitive to a conservative game management.  I like it!!

A win is a win but giving up over 500 yards back to back weeks against teams that are a combined 1 - 10 (assuming a U Mass loss as they're down 28 - 7 at half to WMU) is worrisome. We knew pass defense was not what we hoped prior to injuries but the run defense today and the poor tackling has to be addressed.

You might conclude we are "ripe" (?)

Get past Akron at home next week and you have 14 days to get healthy before a trip to Oxford to play Miami.

Hope we can get by Akron and then in the week off get some guys healed and back on the field.

Getting past Akron at this point is easier said than done. They are shutting out BG at the half, 10-0, and really playing decent football right now.

I'm happy that my preseason prognostication of  a loss was wrong today but in general I am not happy.  The defense gave up way too many yards on the ground and Frank has to go for the jugular when he has a chance.  Not kicking the field goal on our penultimate possession was a mistake.  IMHO it would not have been considered running up the score but just ensuring the win.

All that said, I am impressed with the Bulls.  They could cause some of the other MAC East teams some real headaches, especially when Oliver comes back.

Reghi was talking about a top 25 ranking after this game.  All I could say was "Are you kidding?".  We'll probably lose more votes just like we did last week because we played so poorly on defense.

Agreed that our performance won't help our cause but Penn State knocking of Northwestern will at least offset that and maybe nudge us a bit higher.

Still not quite sure why we didn't want to kick field goals today, but a win is a win.

Can anyone explain why we didn't want to make it a 3 possession game at the end of our last drive? If Buffalo somehow recovers that onside kick and scores a TD, I would have been furious.

Agree. I'm completely confused why we don't kick the field goal. It makes no sense.

Not too bright on solich's part, too scared to possibly get a field goal blocked but not too scared to throw it twice which could be a pick 6. This was about as bright as declining the 10 years penalty last week which immediately turned into a TD for UMass.

I agree that they need a bye week, and I was looking at the schedule with that in mind, too. This looks like a very tried, sore Bobcat team. That was a Top 25 Bobcat team that beat Penn State, but this is not the same team. There are far too many people banged up, either missing games, or playing hurt. The good news is that they keep finding a way to win.

Would Buffalo have won easily without their turnovers? Perhaps. Would Ohio have won easily without all the successful Buffalo trick plays? Perhaps. It doesn't matter, though. On the scorebook it says Ohio won.
