Didn't Know buffalo had so much hate for us. They are having a meme contest on their message board.

Envy is such a funny thing isn't it?

The photoshop contest would be entertaining if it were actually funny.  The "look-alike" therads from Penn State and Marshall were at least good for a laugh.  "The toilet bowl of the MAC?"  Our stadium may be small and outdated, but our environment is better than theirs.

They've never gotten over Leon's tip-in.

As for the game, it would be nice to see us run them off the field and gain some steam for the polls again, but priority number one is to go 1-0 this week and have no further additions to the injury list.  Take care of this, and I could care less if we win by 1 or 100.

Interesting thing:

Road games-  88-72 (3-0)

Home games- 88-34 (2-0)

You can make an argument for the strength of teams we played on the road, but still great to see we do this well at home.

Coach Solich expressed confidence that they were able to get Tyler through the UMass game without re-aggravating his injury and that he could very well be truly 100% game ready by the end of the week.   He also feels Boykin could be back to 100% and able to share carries with Beau (something Beau may not be a fan of but the in game change of pace and the saving of wear and tear on Beau are both critical).

A non hesitant Tyler makes that UMass game seem like a non issue.  Another week of practice for the young corners and a good dose of home crowd should be just what the doctor ordered.

As long as it's not because of us being classless or whatever, I love being the team everyone wants to take down.

No, of the two schools/student bodies/fan bases, UB is the classless one. I've lived in Buffalo several years now working on my dissertation (at a UB-associated-institution, actually) and have had several UB alumni! admit that theirs is possibly the douchiest student body/fan base in the MAC. These folks (all of them western New York natives) typically place the blame firmly on students from down state.

I posted earlier that 2005 was the year I really fell for Ohio athletics.  First Frank, then Leon crushes Buffalo fan's hearts into million of little pieces and Jeremy Fears does legal backflips.

The 110's one regular season road trip last year was to Buffalo.   A number of the members went to a parties held by members of the opposition band and were treated well and had good times.

Buffalo brings their band to Peden and will overnight in town so hopefully they get a "taste" of small town college life on their trip.

Two years ago my then 110 son and his section had a pre-game altercation with the Beefs when the team came out too soon after Ohio's team running on.  Of course the marching band "refused to yield" and there began a bit of pushing and shoving and trash talking with a number of players using "Potty" mouth.  So here's to putting the Beefs into the toilet this season as Ohio gets revenge over last year's loss and becomes Bowl Eligible at 6-0 and keeps pace with Kent and Miami atop the MAC East leader board.

Go Bobcats!

Something else interesting is that in three road games, the Cats have been behind almost twice as long as they've been ahead (94:27 to 52:32), but they haven't yet trailed at home (100:51 to 0:00).  They took an early lead vs. NMSU and were tied a couple times but never trailed, and vs. Norfolk they scored a TD 2:23 into the game and never gave up the lead.  Four of the next five games are at home, so it's time to make some hay.

The Cats should be able to run on these next four opponents.  Buffalo's giving up 190 yds a game, and the rest are 200+ (EMU is worst in the nation at 301).

I'm not worried about our running game.  I am worried about our inability to stop the pass/pass rush and the fact that we have a bunch of QBs who will be throwing 50 times against us.

First, I will say the nicest thing that I can about Beefs.  It's not 'kron.

But it's a close second 'kron.

Defense.

Defense. Defense. Defense. Defense. Defense.

Just to be clear, it's not an ABC broadcast, although the Cleveland area gets it on an ABC affiliate.  In the Columbus area, we get it on WWHO, which is a CW station.  It's the MAC's production, with Reghi doing the call and Doug Graber as analyst (he sounds a lot like Max Wright, the guy who played the dad on "ALF").

Unfortunately I was corrected on Facebook by a few current members when I said they were coming.  I guess the Buffalo band will not be in Peden this week after all.

Hopefully those clowns who tried to punch one of our guys are gone.  Lost a lot of respect for Buffalo that day.

Just as well. In the 8-10 UB games I've attended, I've yet to be impressed with their band (the so called "Thunder of the East". HA)

For those in Cincinnati, I checked the listings for EKRC (Cincinnati's CW) and it looks like they will be showing USF at Temple. Channel 22 in Dayton (WKEF) is showing the Buffalo/Ohio game according to its listings.

What about those of us who live around Stuebenville, Cambridge, St. Clairsville (I pretty much just named the major towns around me)?
