Are they doing a football feature or one on our combined rise in football and basketball?

Peter King to chime in?

I would imagine its probably something to that extent. "The Year of the Bobcat" so to speak, as show on an ESPN graphic.

I've got $20 that says the faculty/staff opposing athletics will find something negative to say about a national magazine writing a piece on us, even if it does feature OU graduate Peter King.

I can almost see The Post article now: "SI Feature on OU Athletics Misguided"

Bitter wine is an upgrade over what I've been drinking lately.

Lars Anderson is the writer. He tweeted that he was carded twice (at the age of 41) during his stay in Athens.

That's great. Glad that he stopped to enjoy all of Athens.

in other tweets Anderson said he was on his way to Athens, Oh "to check out what might be the best story in college football thus far this season: the Ohio Bobcats.". Later he referred to "Peter King's old stomping grounds" as "just a gem of a campus".

sounds like this could be some really positive press for the program and the university.

Don't you suspect that someone doing research must be following this site?  The names of the regular naysayers will be well known.  I just hope they aren't given the opportunity by SI to rain on the victory parade.  A lot of time has passed since that Walter Luckett piece.  Wish I had saved mine.

SI isn't going to go roaming around the classics and world religion department looking for quotes, don't worry.

SI isn't The Post.  It definitely doesn't cater to the Steve Hays crowd.

To quote Russ' reaction to wrapping up the Penn State win...

"Hello world...Do you know who Ohio is now?"

This coverage couldn't possibly come at a better time!

It's a good step if Ohio wants to build support around the country as the underdog team trying to buck the BCS. While the general public doesn't vote in the polls, it puts the team in the discussion and the voters are more likely to watch Ohio midweek games.

If Ohio takes care of business and can get to November unbeaten, those Wednesday night games are going to be heavily watched.

Any chance this is a cover article?  I'd like to frame it side by side with the old one

Have you not heard of the SI cover curse?  Why would we want to be on the cover?

I have a feeling an eyepatch smilie would win any sort of poll we did for a new smilie contest.
